Overview
Event schedules shape a stay at APA Hotel & Resort Tokyo Bay Makuhari. A second-floor walkway reaches Makuhari Messe's East Exit in about one minute, ZOZO Marine Stadium is roughly five minutes away, and Kaihimmakuhari Station is a seven-minute walk in the opposite direction.
The hotel has 2,007 rooms across the 50-story Central Tower and two lower wings in the Kaihimmakuhari Station Area. It's a large, busy complex. Multiple public baths, restaurants, shops, and event facilities reduce the need to leave between scheduled commitments.
Rooms
Layouts vary considerably among the three wings. Compact rooms for solo guests, couples, and small groups dominate the East and West wings, while the Central Tower has a broader range of renovated standard rooms, larger deluxe options, and suites.
A Central Tower renovation finished in June 2026, and every guest room is now non-smoking. Selected high-floor rooms have ocean views, but the floor, outlook, bed arrangement, and available space depend on the category. Check the exact wing and room type rather than booking by the hotel name alone.
Facilities
Overnight guests can use three large public-bath complexes without an extra fee. Men and women have baths in the Central Tower and West Wing, while the East Wing bath is reserved for women. Open-air baths and saunas vary by location. Guest-room televisions show congestion at the baths and coin laundries, which can help during busy periods.
The outdoor pool operates seasonally and costs extra, even for staying guests, although a reduced guest rate is available. Entry may be restricted once it reaches capacity. Coin laundries in all three wings, on-site convenience shopping, and substantial parking support longer stays and busy event weekends.
Dining
La Veranda on the first floor serves the main breakfast buffet, along with lunch and dinner buffets. Higher in the Central Tower, guests can choose teppanyaki on the 49th floor or dining and bar service at Sky Cruise Makuhari on the 50th.
Casual cafes and Japanese dining provide further choice elsewhere in the complex. There are enough options to remain on site throughout a conference day, though hours and service patterns vary by venue.
Location and transport
The second-floor walkway reaches Makuhari Messe's East Exit in about one minute. ZOZO Marine Stadium is around five minutes away on foot, while Kaihimmakuhari Station takes about seven minutes to reach.
JR Keiyo Line trains run directly from Kaihimmakuhari toward Maihama and Tokyo. Mitsui Outlet Park Makuhari is beside the station, so shopping can fit before a train or on the return walk. The convention halls and stadium are closer to the hotel than the railway, which is worth remembering when you're carrying luggage.
Airport access
Paid limousine coaches for Haneda and Narita airports call at the hotel. Published journey estimates are about 60 minutes from Haneda and 45 minutes from Narita, though road traffic can extend either trip.
Airport bus tickets are no longer sold inside the hotel. Passengers pay when boarding with cash or an accepted transport IC card. Check the latest timetable and airport terminal order before traveling, since coaches don't all follow the same stopping pattern.
Why stay here
The one-minute walkway to Makuhari Messe and five-minute walk to the stadium simplify event days. Public baths and broad dining choices also make it easy to spend the evening within the complex. The tradeoff is the seven-minute walk to the station and a hotel that can become busy when large events finish.
Between scheduled sessions, Mitsui Outlet Park is beside the station, while Makuhari Seaside Park and ZOZO Marine Stadium extend the district toward Tokyo Bay. Conventions, concerts, baseball, and major public events shape the area more than central Tokyo nightlife.
