Overview
Few airport arrivals involve such a short walk. A same-level, step-free passage links Centrair Hotel directly to Terminal 1 at Chubu Centrair International Airport. Central Japan International Airport Station is 100 metres away, and the airline check-in area is 130 metres from the hotel, with no shuttle or road crossing required.
That layout eases the strain of an early flight, a late arrival, or a stopover with heavy luggage. Aichi Sky Expo is also within walking distance. The tradeoff is the airport-island setting, which is less convenient for evenings and sightseeing in central Nagoya.
Rooms
Rooms are divided between the Central and Pacific sides of the hotel, ranging from 16-square-metre singles to a 78-square-metre suite. Pacific-side options start with 24-square-metre doubles and include several 32-square-metre twin layouts. Larger Central-side categories include 44-square-metre deluxe twins, 55-square-metre Japanese-style rooms and junior suites, and the hotel's largest suite.
Choosing the right category matters. Many layouts separate the bath, toilet, and washbasin, a helpful arrangement when two people are preparing for a flight. Qualifying high-floor, airport-facing rooms look toward the runway and Ise Bay, while other categories may face another direction.
The 32-square-metre ANA Room and two Hello Kitty rooms bring an aviation or character theme to the stay. These are specific room categories, not decorative themes used throughout the hotel, so reserve by room name if that's part of the appeal.
Facilities
The guest lounge provides free coffee, flight information screens, tatami seating, and a small business booth. They're modest features, but well matched to an airport overnight when you may be waiting for check-in, checking a departure, or finishing some work.
A FamilyMart beside the hotel covers drinks, snacks, and basic travel supplies. The front desk is open around the clock.
Dining
Restaurant Cosmos serves a breakfast buffet from 6:00 to 10:00, with last orders at 9:30. That early start suits many morning departures, but passengers booked on the first flights should compare breakfast hours with their airline's check-in deadline.
The airport terminals have a wider selection for dinner than the hotel itself. Opening hours vary by venue, and a late arrival can considerably narrow the choices.
Location and transport
From the train gates, the hotel passage is on the right beyond the convenience store. From the Terminal 1 arrivals lobby, follow signs toward Access Plaza and continue along the same-level connection. The entire route is indoors and step-free.
Meitetsu's fastest μ-SKY trains reach Meitetsu Nagoya in as little as 28 minutes. A μticket is required in addition to the regular fare. A city visit is possible, but central Nagoya remains more convenient when most of the trip will be spent there.
Airport access
Terminal 1 is straightforward. The passage leads into the main airport complex near the airline counters, while Access Plaza handles onward transport. You won't need to wait for a hotel shuttle.
Terminal 2 is separate. The airport gives a walking time of about seven minutes from Central Japan International Airport Station via the P1 parking passage. Return toward Access Plaza and follow the current Terminal 2 signs, allowing more time than for Terminal 1, particularly with luggage.
Why stay here
An early Terminal 1 departure becomes much easier when the room, station, and check-in area are linked on the same level. The 6:00 breakfast, lounge flight information, and broad range of room sizes also help with overnight flight connections and visits to Aichi Sky Expo.
Time on the airport island doesn't have to be limited to departure halls. Flight of Dreams and the exhibition center are nearby, while the airport's public areas have aircraft views, shops, and regional dining. For several days of city sightseeing or nightlife, however, central Nagoya is the better location.
Good to know
Both smoking and non-smoking room categories are sold. Guests with smoke sensitivity should reserve a room explicitly marked non-smoking, as a general request may otherwise be met with a deodorized smoking room. Tokoname also charges a lodging tax of ¥200 per person per night.
