Overview
Five minutes from the South Exit of Kochi Station, Comfort Hotel Kochi keeps JR trains and airport buses close at hand. The Kochi-Ekimae streetcar stop is equally close, providing a southbound ride toward Harimayabashi and Kochi City Center.
The location eases an early departure, a late JR arrival, or a flight timed around the airport bus. Hirome Market, Obiyamachi, and Kochi Castle are farther south, so evenings in the older center require a streetcar, taxi, or longer walk.
Rooms
Double rooms measure 15 to 17 square meters, while standard twins provide 22 to 24 square meters. All rooms are non-smoking. Serta beds and movable desks add comfort and flexibility, while the televisions show current crowding at breakfast and in the laundry.
The 27-square-meter universal room has two beds and a wheelchair-accessible layout. It's available only by phone, so booking requires more planning than for the standard room categories.
Facilities
The first-floor Library Cafe is open to overnight guests from 10:00 to midnight. Coffee and reading material offer a welcome alternative to waiting in the room, while Wi-Fi, charging points, and loan tablets support work or route planning.
Self-service machines handle check-in and check-out. Lockers are available before check-in and after check-out, and the coin laundry operates around the clock. Both are especially handy when train or bus schedules fall outside the room-use window.
Dining
Breakfast is included and served as a buffet in the Library Cafe from 6:30 to 9:30. Dishes vary, but the early start helps before a morning train or airport bus.
For lunch and dinner, the streets around Harimayabashi, Obiyamachi, and Hirome Market provide more choice than the immediate station side. Streetcars keep those areas within reach without making every evening depend on a taxi.
Location and transport
The hotel is about five minutes on foot from both Kochi Station's South Exit and the Kochi-Ekimae streetcar stop. JR services handle arrivals from elsewhere in Shikoku, while the streetcar covers the short link between the rail forecourt and the city's older center.
The tradeoff is straightforward. Staying near the station shortens the walk to trains, airport buses, and taxis, while hotels around Harimayabashi and Obiyamachi place evening dining and the castle-side streets closer to the door.
Airport access
Airport limousine buses connect Kochi Ryoma Airport with Kochi-eki Bus Terminal in about 25 minutes. From there, the hotel is reached on foot.
There isn't a hotel-door shuttle. The bus journey is direct, but the final approach is outdoors, which matters in bad weather or when you're carrying heavy luggage.
Why stay here
An early JR departure or airport-bus connection is the clearest reason to stay here. Included breakfast from 6:30 and self-service luggage storage also help when your schedule doesn't align neatly with check-in or check-out.
Once the luggage is dealt with, central Kochi remains within reach. Hirome Market brings food stalls and shared tables close to Kochi Castle, while the Sunday Market extends east from the castle gate on Sunday mornings.
Good to know
Comfort Hotel Kochi isn't attached to the station, so expect a five-minute outdoor walk. The 39-space on-site car park is paid and available on a first-come, first-served basis; when it's full, the hotel directs drivers to nearby partner parking.
