Overview
A direct underground route from Okayama Station defines the stay at Daiwa Roynet Hotel Okayama Ekimae. The hotel is about one minute from the Korakuen Exit, and the covered passage keeps most of the approach indoors when it's raining or you're carrying heavy luggage.
The 216 rooms range from doubles with proper desks to larger twins and a Junior Suite. Local dishes give breakfast an Okayama flavor, while luggage storage, domestic courier service, a meeting room, and 24-hour laundry support a straightforward city stay.
Rooms
Every room measures at least 18 square metres. Moderate and Standard doubles have 154-centimetre beds and desks with enough space for a laptop, while Superior doubles and twin rooms provide noticeably more floor space.
Premium doubles have separate bath and toilet areas. The Junior Suite adds the same separation, twin beds, and space for an extra bed. It's worth comparing room sizes and bathroom layouts before booking, particularly if you're sharing or traveling with large luggage.
Facilities
Three coin-operated laundry machines operate around the clock on the seventh floor. Luggage storage and domestic courier service can help between hotel stays, and a meeting room is available for small business sessions.
Self-service machines handle payment and some check-ins. Room keys control elevator access to guest floors, while microwaves, ice machines, and vending machines cover everyday needs.
Dining
Breakfast is served as a Japanese and Western buffet at Asage Okayama Ekimae on the fifth floor. Guests can arrange small dishes in a nine-section wooden box, with local flavors represented by seared Spanish mackerel, ebimeshi shrimp rice, and kibidango.
Service begins at 6:30 on weekdays and 7:00 on weekends and public holidays. Remember the later weekend start if you're catching an early train. For lunch and dinner, the station area provides a wider choice.
Location and transport
The hotel stands in the Okayama Station Area, at the beginning of Momotaro Boulevard. Okayama-Ekimae tram stop is also close to the east exit, with services toward the city centre, Okayama Castle, and Korakuen Garden.
Okayama Station is more than a Shinkansen stop. Local JR trains make Kurashiki an easy day trip, the Marine Liner crosses the Seto Inland Sea to Takamatsu, and Limited Express Yakumo services run north toward Matsue and Izumo.
Airport access
Airport buses connect Okayama Momotaro Airport with Okayama Station's West Exit in about 30 minutes. The hotel is on the east side, so you'll need to cross through the station after leaving the bus.
There is no hotel-door shuttle. The underground route shelters the final approach, but the airport transfer still includes the walk from the west side to the east side of the station.
Why stay here
Rainy arrivals, heavy luggage, and early trains are easier to manage here. The underground link takes uncertainty out of the station approach, while the range of room layouts means staying close to the tracks doesn't automatically require choosing the smallest option.
Momotaro Boulevard leads east toward Okayama Castle and Korakuen Garden. Both are beyond the immediate station frontage, but nearby trams and buses make it easy to combine sightseeing with Shinkansen arrivals or regional rail day trips.
Good to know
Partner parking uses overnight service tickets that are valid only during set hours. Extra charges apply outside that period or when a car is taken out during the stay, so drivers planning several outings should check the current terms.
The entrance is locked from midnight to 6:00. Checked-in guests can enter with their room key, while late arrivals need to use the intercom.
