Overview

Directly beside Beppu Park, the 30-room Hana Beppu occupies a greener setting than most hotels around the station. The West Exit of Beppu Station is six minutes away on foot, keeping JR trains and local buses within easy reach.

The inn reopened on March 6, 2026, after a substantial renewal. Every guest room became a bed-based tatami bedroom, while a new all-inclusive lounge created a relaxed place to spend time between meals and bathing.

Rooms

Four room categories accommodate couples and groups of up to four. The six Otome twins are the simplest, with two beds and a shower booth. Nine Chidori and Yumeakari rooms also have showers, while the 12 larger Hagoromo rooms add full bathrooms and use sofa beds or futons for additional guests.

Three special rooms occupy the top of the range. Each sleeps up to four and has a jet bath, massage chair, and views across Beppu. Bed and extra-bedding arrangements differ by category, so groups should check the exact layout before booking.

Facilities

The Ippuku lounge is the center of the new all-inclusive setup. Drinks, including alcohol, and sweets are available from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM and again from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM. Books and a children's play area give guests more reasons to use the space.

The public hot-spring baths have tatami floors, indoor and open-air pools, and separate facilities for men and women. The women's side also has a mist sauna. Guests who prefer more privacy can reserve the family bath for a paid 50-minute session.

Dining

Dinner is a kaiseki meal centered on ingredients from Oita and elsewhere in Kyushu. The main course varies by plan, with options ranging from local chicken to Oita Wagyu, and meals are served in a semi-private dining room.

Breakfast is a Japanese or Western set meal rather than a buffet. The Japanese choice includes Oita rice and build-your-own miso soup, while both options finish with a customizable parfait in the lounge. Availability may depend on the plan, date, or arrival time.

Location and transport

The hotel is in the Beppu Station Area, west of the railway tracks. The station's West Exit is about six minutes away, and neighboring Beppu Park has broad lawns, bamboo, mature pines, and seasonal plum and cherry trees.

JR limited express trains connect Beppu with Oita, Kokura, and Hakata. Local buses reach Kannawa and the main Hells area from the station in roughly 20 minutes. Downtown restaurants and Takegawara Onsen are on the opposite side of the tracks, so visiting them requires a longer walk through central Beppu.

Airport access

The scheduled Airliner bus connects Oita Airport with Beppu Station in around 50 minutes under typical conditions. From there, use the West Exit for the six-minute walk to the inn.

It isn't a hotel shuttle. Check the current bus stop and timetable before departure, especially for an early journey or a tight flight connection.

Why stay here

Meals, hot-spring bathing, and the measured pace of a small inn come without giving up easy access to Beppu's main transport hub. The renewed bedrooms pair Ryukyu tatami with raised beds, while the lounge gives adults and children somewhere to unwind beyond the guest rooms.

The park-side setting provides a clear contrast with the busier streets east of the station. The tradeoff is equally clear: central dining and the city's best-known old public bath aren't immediately outside, and Kannawa and the Hells still require a bus or taxi.

Good to know

The six-minute walk from Beppu Station is outdoors. Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM.

Chidori, Yumeakari, and Otome rooms have shower booths rather than in-room bathtubs. Guests can use the public baths, but the reservable family bath costs extra and has limited evening hours.
