Overview
Every guest-room bath at Hotel Ravie Kawaryo uses natural hot-spring water. The same eight-source system feeds the large shared baths and all-weather indoor pool, giving guests several ways to bathe without booking a premium room.
The hotel is about seven minutes on foot from Ito Station. If you're arriving between 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM, call after reaching the station to request pickup. This is especially helpful with luggage.
Rooms
Across three wings, room choices include Japanese rooms, Japanese-Western layouts, Western twins, and larger special categories. Standard Japanese rooms accommodate one to five guests, while two-room and corner layouts extend to groups of seven. Japanese-Western rooms combine twin beds with a tatami area and sleep up to six.
The Grand Chateau Japanese-Western room is the most elaborate option, with its own open-air bath, cypress bath, and sauna. Conventional room categories still receive natural hot-spring water in their bathrooms, supplied directly without recirculation. Room style is the first decision.
Facilities
Two shared-bath complexes each combine indoor and open-air bathing. The men's and women's sides switch after overnight cleaning, and the baths operate from 2:00 PM until 10:00 AM apart from the cleaning period. Saunas, jet baths, and other features vary between the two sides.
The private open-air bath uses free-flowing source water and can be reserved for paid 50-minute sessions for groups of up to five. The indoor onsen pool is maintained at about 33 degrees Celsius, with a shallow children's pool and a hot-spring whirlpool. Use is free for staying guests, but bring a swimsuit because rentals aren't available.
Table tennis, karaoke, and a game corner provide additional entertainment for groups and families. For a quieter break, the lobby lounge overlooks Matsukawa. Guest parking is free.
Dining
Dinner is a seafood-focused buffet of about 60 Japanese, Western, and Chinese dishes. Grilled shellfish and freshly cooked tempura are among the more distinctive choices, while seasonal dishes change throughout the year. The two usual seatings begin at 5:30 PM and 7:15 PM.
Breakfast is another buffet, with roughly 40 Japanese and Western dishes served from 6:45 AM to 9:00 AM. That early start helps before a train. Choose a dinner time in advance when possible, as preferred seatings can fill.
Location and transport
The seven-minute route from Ito Station is outdoors. Afternoon pickup is available on request rather than to a fixed timetable: call after arriving between 1:00 PM and 5:30 PM, and the hotel will send a vehicle. Outside those hours, walking or taking a taxi are the dependable options.
The wider Ito Station Area places Matsukawa, Tokaikan, and Orange Beach within the same stay. JR trains run north to Atami for Shinkansen connections, while Izukyu services continue south toward Izu-Kogen, Kawazu, and Shimoda.
Why stay here
Hot-spring water in every room bath provides a private bathing option without the cost of a premium category. Larger shared baths, a reservable private bath, and the indoor pool offer added flexibility for families and groups, while buffet dining keeps both main meals inside the hotel.
Central Ito is close outside the building. Matsukawa runs beside the hotel, Tokaikan preserves the old onsen district's wooden architecture, and Orange Beach is a short walk away. Together, they make it easy to alternate time at the hotel with riverside or seaside outings.
Good to know
Station pickup runs only from 1:00 PM to 5:30 PM and requires a call after arrival. Bring your own swimsuit for the pool, reserve and pay separately for the private open-air bath, and check the bathing schedule because the men's and women's facilities switch overnight.
Room layouts vary considerably among the three wings. Check the exact wing and category before booking, particularly if you need Western beds, space for a larger group, or a private open-air bath.
