Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

JR Clement Inn Kochi works well for travelers planning their Kochi stay around JR trains, highway buses, or straightforward city sightseeing. Kochi Station and Kochi Station Bus Terminal are both a short walk away, and the hotel is about two minutes on foot west of the rail concourse. That location is especially convenient for early departures, late arrivals, and short stays in the city center.

This is a straightforward city inn rather than a resort-style hotel. All guest rooms are nonsmoking, and the front desk can hold luggage on the day of check-in or checkout. It is best suited to travelers who want a simple place near the transport hub and expect to spend most of their time out in Kochi.

Rooms

Rooms are compact and easy to compare. Single rooms measure 15.1 sq m, accommodate one or two adults, and have one 1400 mm bed. Twin rooms are just over 21 sq m and come with two 1200 mm beds. The universal room measures 31.8 sq m with two 1200 mm beds; only one is available, and reservations are handled by phone.

All rooms are nonsmoking. Standard features include a special-model Serta bed, 42-inch TV, safe, electric kettle, and refrigerator. Internet access in rooms is Wi-Fi only; wired LAN connections are not available. Rooms also include an air purifier-humidifier, hair dryer, individual air conditioning, and bathrooms with bidet toilet seats.

Facilities

Wi-Fi is available throughout the building and in all guest rooms. Amenity areas are set near the elevators on each floor. Shared items such as trouser presses, iron sets, and pillow options are available in limited numbers, so they may already be in use when requested.

Coin laundry machines are on the second floor, which is helpful for multi-night stays or after outdoor sightseeing. Vending machines and ice machines are located on selected guest floors. A shared smoking area is available on the first floor; guest rooms, corridors, and the lobby are nonsmoking.

For security, the main entrance is locked from 00:00 to 06:00. Guests can enter with a card key during those hours, and the elevators also require a card key.

Dining

Breakfast is served at Ekimaeno Rakuda on the first floor. Guests choose either a Japanese or Western set meal. Kochi ingredients appear in dishes and sides such as seared bonito, local rice, and regional eggs. Breakfast is served from 6:00 to 10:00, with last entry at 9:30. On busy mornings, seating may be arranged in 30-minute windows.

The same restaurant opens in the evening as a casual pub-style dining spot, generally from 17:00 to 23:00, with last order at 22:30. It is not open every night: Mondays and some Tuesdays are closed, so check the schedule if you plan to have dinner there after arrival.

Location and transport

The hotel is in Kochi City Center, close to the city’s main rail and bus hub. From Kochi Station, the Yosakoi information center is about 10 minutes on foot. Hirome Market is about 20 minutes away, and Kochi Castle is about 25 minutes away. City sightseeing buses depart from the station-front area for attractions farther out.

Drivers can use the attached JR Kochi Station West multistory parking lot. It has 104 spaces and operates first come, first served. The fee is 1,000 yen per 24 hours, paid at the front desk with your parking ticket. The height limit is 2.1 m. Taller or very low vehicles are directed to a nearby surface lot south of the hotel. During busy holiday periods, partner parking may fill.

Airport access

Kochi Ryoma Airport is connected to Kochi-eki Bus Terminal by airport limousine bus, including Tosaden Traffic service. The ride to Kochi-eki Bus Terminal takes about 25 minutes and costs 740 yen, with no transfer required. From the bus terminal, the hotel is about two minutes on foot.

Why stay here

Choose this hotel if your plans depend on JR trains, highway buses, or central sightseeing routes. The tradeoff is compact rooms rather than generous in-room space. In return, you get nonsmoking private rooms, breakfast downstairs, and coin laundry in the building. Attached paid parking also helps if you are combining rail travel with driving. The fit is strongest for solo travelers, business guests, and couples who expect to be out for much of the day.

Good to know

There is no public bath, and foreign currency exchange is not available.

Bed-sharing is free for children aged 5 or younger, limited to one child per adult. Child amenities and towels are not provided. Children aged 6 or older need a paid reservation.

Housekeeping normally takes place between 10:00 and 14:00, and cleaning is not available after 14:00. Guests may request to skip cleaning for up to two days. For hygiene reasons, room cleaning is carried out on the third day.

Luggage storage is for hotel guests only and is limited to same-day pickup on the day of check-in or checkout. Valuables and temperature-controlled items are not accepted; fragile articles and musical instruments are also excluded.
