Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Koyado Enn is a small inn near the entrance to Kinosaki's main street, about three minutes on foot from Kinosaki Onsen Station. Jizo-yu is also around three minutes away, while the other public baths continue west through the center of Kinosaki Onsen.

Two private natural hot-spring baths complement that location. Guests can use either bath when it's vacant, then head out with the pass included in the stay to visit the town's public bathhouses.

Rooms

Nine rooms occupy the second through fourth floors. Japanese and Western layouts range from tatami rooms to twins and semi-doubles, with white walls, dark wood, and Simmons beds throughout.

The two premier Japanese-Western rooms add living space and private shower rooms. One has racks for guests traveling with bicycles, while the other takes its design theme from Tajima beef and local cattle culture. Standard room categories use the shared private hot-spring baths downstairs.

Facilities

Tsuki no Yu and Hoshi no Yu are private indoor baths filled with sodium-calcium chloride spring water. Reservations aren't taken. When a bath is vacant, guests lock the door from inside, and indicator lights show whether either room is in use.

Bathing hours run from mid-afternoon until the following morning, except during an overnight cleaning period. Visits are limited to about 40 minutes when others are waiting. Bicycle rentals and guided cycling tours offer another way to explore beyond the central bathhouse streets.

Dining

Dinner plans are served upstairs at Irori Dining Mikuni, where Tajima beef is the focus. Its signature beef comes from Ueda Livestock, and accommodation plans range from grilled courses to shabu-shabu.

Breakfast is served downstairs at Cafe & Bar 3RD and uses local ingredients. Neither meal is served in the guest room, so check the dining time attached to your plan and arrive early enough for dinner.

Location and transport

The roughly three-minute walk from Kinosaki Onsen Station follows the town's main street. It's an outdoor route, not a direct station connection. A supermarket is across the street, and nearby Jizo-yu is an easy first stop on the public-bath circuit after check-in.

Direct limited express trains reach the station from Kyoto, Osaka, Sannomiya, and Himeji. All seven public bathhouses are within Kinosaki's compact center, although those at the far end of town require a longer walk than the station-side baths.

Airport access

Scheduled buses connect Kinosaki Onsen Station with Kounotori Tajima Airport, which has flights to and from Osaka Itami. The final walk from the station to the inn is short.

There is no airport shuttle from the inn. Check flight and bus schedules together; depending on the wider itinerary, traveling by rail from Osaka may be simpler.

Why stay here

The short station walk, two private baths, and pass for all seven public bathhouses make it easy to alternate between bathing alone and joining Kinosaki's evening onsen circuit. The tradeoff is stairs: guest rooms are on the upper floors, and the building has no passenger elevator.

Outside, willow-lined canal streets lead toward Ichino-yu, Goshono-yu, the ropeway, and Onsenji Temple. Tajima beef gives dinner a clear local focus, while the station-side location simplifies arrival and departure compared with staying at the far end of town.

Good to know

Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM. Children under 12 aren't accepted. The building and guest rooms are non-smoking, and meals are served in the restaurant or cafe rather than in-room.

There is no passenger elevator, although a luggage lift is available. If stairs are difficult, contact the inn before arrival; staff may be able to assign a room that requires fewer steps. Paid parking is nearby and should be arranged in advance.
