Overview
Mitsui Garden Hotel Okayama is about two minutes on foot from Okayama Station, near the Korakuen Exit on the east side of the rail hub.
Key draws include a 10th-floor public bath, a complimentary guest lounge, and a breakfast buffet built around Okayama ingredients. AEON Mall Okayama is across the street, making it easy to pick up meals, shopping, or travel essentials without heading back into the station.
Rooms
The room lineup begins with the 14.2-square-meter Standard Double and the 17.1-square-meter Standard Queen. The Queen gives couples a wider bed and a little more floor space, while both remain compact options best suited to shorter stays.
Twin rooms are a better fit when extra room matters. The Standard Twin measures 20 square meters, while Superior Twins range from 26.4 to 28.4 square meters. With a daybed, the Superior Twin can accommodate three guests. All rooms are non-smoking and include free Wi-Fi.
Facilities
The Garden Bath is on the 10th floor and looks onto a planted garden inspired by Okayama's landscape. It is reserved for hotel guests and is open overnight, from the afternoon through the following morning.
Next to the lobby, the complimentary lounge serves coffee, tea, soft drinks, and snacks from early afternoon into the evening. Some seats include power outlets for working or planning the next part of a trip. Six coin-operated laundry machines are available on the second floor, and there is a microwave on the 10th floor.
Dining
Garden Cafe serves a Japanese and Western breakfast buffet on the first floor. The menu highlights produce from Okayama and the surrounding region, with seasonal dishes rather than a fixed year-round selection.
Breakfast is the hotel's only listed restaurant service. For lunch or dinner, guests can use the restaurants around the station or cross the street to AEON Mall Okayama.
Location and transport
The hotel is in the Okayama Station Area near the Korakuen Exit. The short walk is convenient for Shinkansen arrivals and local JR trips, though the route is outdoors rather than directly connected to the station.
Okayama Station has Sanyo Shinkansen service, local trains to Kurashiki, the Marine Liner to Takamatsu, and Limited Express Yakumo trains toward Matsue and Izumo. That makes the location a strong fit for travelers combining central Okayama with rail day trips.
Airport access
Airport limousine buses use Okayama Station's West Exit. Guests arriving from Okayama Momotaro Airport need to cross through the station from the bus side before walking to the hotel near the east exit, as there is no hotel-door airport shuttle.
Why stay here
Consider Mitsui Garden Hotel Okayama if you want a short walk from the station, a public bath, and lounge access between rail journeys. The larger Superior Twin is also a good option for three-person stays that would feel cramped in the smaller double rooms.
Good to know
The compact Standard Double is not ideal for travelers who need generous floor space or room for several large bags.
