Overview
From Tobu-Nikko Station and Nikko Station, Nikko Station Hotel II is no more than a five-minute walk. Tobu-Nikko is about three minutes away, while JR Nikko is about five, keeping trains and sightseeing buses close for early starts and luggage-heavy arrivals.
This is a straightforward stay in the Nikko Station Area, with compact rooms and practical support before and after check-in. The World Heritage district isn't outside the door, but buses for the uphill journey and both rail routes are nearby.
Rooms
Most rooms are doubles. Standard and top-floor doubles measure 14 square metres and sleep up to two guests, while the four corner twins measure 19 square metres and also accommodate two. Double beds are 140 or 155 centimetres wide, depending on the category.
The choices are simple but worth comparing. A corner twin gives two travelers separate beds and a little more floor space, while a top-floor double has the wider double bed. Every room is non-smoking and has a private unit bathroom.
Facilities
Self-service lockers make arrival and departure days easier to use for sightseeing. Overnight guests can use them without charge after speaking with the front desk, and staff can hold larger bags.
Lobby facilities cover basic needs with a microwave, ice machine, vending machines, and a free drink server. The entire building is non-smoking, with a designated smoking area outside.
Location and transport
Tobu-Nikko is the closer station. It handles direct limited express trains from Asakusa, along with selected through services from Shinjuku and Ikebukuro. JR Nikko connects through Utsunomiya and may be more convenient when the trip is built around wider JR travel.
World Heritage sightseeing buses run from the station district to the shrine and temple area. Longer services continue toward Lake Chuzenji and Oku-Nikko, so the hotel keeps the departure points close even though the main sights lie farther uphill or in the mountains.
Why stay here
Short walks to both railways and useful luggage storage simplify a brief Nikko visit. You can arrive with either operator, leave bags near the bus stops, and spend more of the day sightseeing before returning for your train.
The station district favors logistics over scenery. It works when rail and bus connections matter more than having the shrines, lake, or mountain landscapes immediately outside.
Good to know
The hotel is close to both stations but isn't directly connected to either. Both approaches are outdoors, so the final walk matters more in rain, winter weather, or with heavy luggage.
Parking is off site, limited to ordinary cars, and allocated in arrival order without advance reservations. A nearby supermarket and convenience store are handy for simple food and travel supplies.
