Overview

Four minutes on foot from Saenbacho Station, OMO7 Kochi by Hoshino Resorts brings Kochi's food and dance traditions into the stay. The hotel is in Kutanda, within Kochi City Center, with tram connections for sightseeing and an airport-bus stop nearby.

Staff perform a Yosakoi dance show each night on the lounge's grand staircase, while the restaurant serves straw-seared bonito and other regional dishes. The bathhouse stays open until late, leaving time for a bath after the show.

Rooms

The hotel has 133 rooms, with layouts for one to four guests. Handmade paper wall coverings and cypress furniture shape the interiors, while playful artwork depicts Tosa dogs at a feast. Guests remove their shoes inside the rooms.

The 52-square-meter Utage Suite accommodates four people and has a raised tatami living area, with suitcase storage beneath the beds. The 40-square-meter Utage Semi-Suite accommodates three and includes a sofa bed and dining table. Both layouts provide space for friends or families to gather rather than using the room only for sleep.

All rooms are nonsmoking. Dog-friendly accommodation is available in designated rooms, so guests traveling with a pet need to select the appropriate category and check its conditions.

Facilities

The guest-only bathhouse has indoor and outdoor baths, a cold bath, and a sauna with automatic steam bursts. The outdoor bath faces a planted garden, while colorful interior tiles draw on Kochi's festival flags. These are public baths, not natural hot springs.

Bathing hours run from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m. and again from 5 to 10 a.m. The morning session leaves time for a bath before breakfast, while the late closing allows for one after an evening out.

OMO Base combines lounge seating, a large neighborhood map, and the grand staircase used for performances. The free Yosakoi show begins at 9 p.m., with staff dancers and an opportunity for guests to try the steps themselves. Laundry facilities, lockers, and a shared microwave cover everyday needs during a longer stay.

Dining

OMO Dining's buffets draw on Kochi's tradition of serving assorted dishes on large communal platters. At dinner, bonito and beef are grilled over straw in front of guests. Dessert options include a make-your-own parfait topped with candied sweet potato strips.

Breakfast runs from 7 to 10 a.m. and includes marinated bonito rice bowls and yuzu French toast. Dinner is served from 6 to 8:30 p.m. and requires a reservation. If you'd like to eat before the dance show, book your dinner time in advance.

OMO Cafe & Bar serves drinks and lighter food throughout the day and evening. Its self-checkout shop sells drinks and snacks around the clock using cashless payment, which is handy after food service has finished.

Location and transport

Saenbacho is the nearby stop on the Tosaden streetcar network. From Kochi Station, take a tram from Kochi-Ekimae and change at Harimayabashi for Saenbacho, then walk to the hotel. A taxi from the JR station takes about five minutes, depending on traffic.

This is a city-center stay, not a station-front one. Allow for the final part of the journey when arriving with luggage or planning an early train departure.

Airport access

From Kochi Ryoma Airport, take an airport shuttle bus serving Saenba, then walk about three minutes to the hotel. The bus stop is called Saenba, while the nearby tram stop is Saenbacho. Keeping the two names separate helps when checking signs and timetables.

The airport bus is a regular public service rather than a hotel shuttle. Check your flight against the current timetable, especially for an early departure or late arrival.

Why stay here

You can return from sightseeing for a bath, a dinner of regional dishes, and the nightly dance show. Larger suites give small groups room to gather, while the nearby airport-bus stop can simplify arrival compared with continuing to the JR station.

Elsewhere in central Kochi, Kochi Castle can be paired with a meal at nearby Hirome Market. Visitors buy dishes from different stalls and eat at shared tables, with seared bonito and other local specialties among the main draws.

Good to know

Check-in begins at 3 p.m., and checkout is at 11 a.m. Paid parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis without reservations. The parking garage doesn't allow entry or exit between 10 p.m. and 7 a.m., so check your arrangements if you'll need the car overnight or early in the morning.
