Overview
A guest-only public bath, riverside lounge, and open-air garden give The Royal Park Canvas Fukuoka Nakasu more shared space than a compact city hotel. Nakasu-Kawabata Station is about two minutes away from Exit 3, while travelers who need an elevator can use Exit 4.
The hotel faces the Hakata River on the Nakasu side of Fukuoka-Nakasu-Kawabata. Evening restaurants and bars are close, yet the shared spaces let guests spend part of the stay in the building rather than treating it only as a place to sleep. Airport Line trains connect the nearby station directly with Fukuoka Airport, Hakata, and Tenjin.
Rooms
Guest rooms occupy the Regular Floor from levels 4 to 9 and the Sky Floor from levels 10 to 14. Standard Doubles start at 18.58 square meters and have shower booths rather than bathtubs. Room choice matters here.
Riverside Superior Twin and King rooms measure 26.67 square meters, with the twin layout accommodating a third guest on a sofa bed. Larger top-floor twin rooms range from roughly 38 to 53 square meters, sleep up to four, and add bathtubs with separate washing areas.
The top-floor Balcony Suites have separate living and sleeping rooms, a balcony-view bath, and either a twin or king layout across 86.16 or 89.25 square meters. A 25.16-square-meter accessible room can be booked by contacting the hotel.
Facilities
The third-floor public bath is reserved for overnight guests. The men's area has a dry sauna, while the women's area has a mist sauna. Bathing hours run from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM and again from 6:00 to 10:00 AM, with coffee and ice cream served in the adjoining after-bath lounge during the same sessions.
A rooftop garden and the river-facing CANVAS LOUNGE offer places to relax outside the room, including terrace seating by the water. Laundry rooms on four floors help on longer stays, while a rental-item room and ironing space cover everyday needs without crowding the guest rooms.
Dining
ONO HAKATA prepares Kyushu meat, fish, and vegetables over local firewood and serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast combines a freshly prepared main dish with a buffet featuring regional ingredients and local dishes.
Guests can instead have breakfast in the CANVAS LOUNGE or reserve a Morning Box for delivery to their room. Later in the day, the lounge shifts to light meals, desserts, and drinks, with a terrace overlooking the Hakata River.
Location and transport
Exit 3 of Nakasu-Kawabata Station is about two minutes from the hotel. Exit 4 is the better arrival point for anyone who needs an elevator, so the accessible route may be preferable to the shortest one when you're carrying heavy luggage.
The station serves both the Airport and Hakozaki subway lines. Airport Line trains reach Tenjin Station in one stop and Hakata Station in two, where passengers can transfer to the Shinkansen and JR network. The Hakozaki Line is useful for Gofukumachi and Kaizuka.
Airport access
Direct Airport Line trains run from Fukuoka Airport Station to Nakasu-Kawabata in about nine minutes, followed by the short walk from Exit 3 or the elevator route from Exit 4. No rail transfer is needed when arriving through the Domestic Terminal.
The subway station is beneath the Domestic Terminal. International passengers first need to take the airport's free inter-terminal shuttle, or compare a direct bus or taxi when luggage makes that extra step inconvenient.
Why stay here
A two-minute station walk and direct airport trains keep arrival simple, while the public bath, saunas, and river-facing shared spaces provide somewhere to unwind outside the room. The main tradeoff is the two-stop subway ride to Hakata for Shinkansen and JR journeys.
Nakasu's restaurants, bars, yatai stalls, and river walks become livelier after dark. Elsewhere in the district, Hakata Riverain, the Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, and Kawabata Shopping Arcade offer daytime culture and shopping without requiring a trip across the city.
Good to know
The hotel is close to the subway but isn't directly connected to it. Use Exit 3 for the shortest walk or Exit 4 for an elevator.
There is no hotel-owned parking, though overnight guests can receive a preferential rate at a designated nearby car park. All guest rooms are non-smoking, with a smoking space on the second floor. Check-in begins at 3:00 PM, and checkout is by 11:00 AM.
