Overview
Maihama Station is the main JR arrival point for Tokyo Disney Resort. From the South Exit, visitors can reach Tokyo Disneyland, Ikspiari, the Welcome Center, and Resort Gateway Station, so this is the key transfer point for park visitors and many hotel guests.
Despite the resort's Tokyo name, the station is in Urayasu, Chiba Prefecture. It's designed for heavy leisure traffic and can become especially busy around park opening and after evening entertainment.
Lines and connections
Maihama is JE07 on the JR Keiyo Line. Musashino Line trains also serve the station by continuing onto the Keiyo tracks. Direct services reach Tokyo Station in about 15 minutes, although journey times vary with the train type and stopping pattern.
Resort Gateway Station is separate from Maihama, but only about a two-minute walk from the South Exit. From there, the Disney Resort Line circles Tokyo Disneyland, Bayside Station, and Tokyo DisneySea.
Station area
Ikspiari's shops, restaurants, and cinema are beside the station. The Tokyo Disney Resort Welcome Center, hotel bus stops, and the pedestrian approach to Tokyo Disneyland are also nearby.
This area is geared toward resort visitors rather than everyday urban sightseeing. Park access is easy, but late-night dining and local neighborhood services are more limited than around a major central Tokyo station.
What's nearby
Tokyo Disneyland is about a five-minute walk away. For Tokyo DisneySea, visitors normally take the monorail from Resort Gateway Station rather than walk across the resort.
Hotels around Bayside are farther along the monorail loop. Hilton Tokyo Bay also runs a free direct shuttle from Maihama Station, taking about seven minutes in normal traffic. That can be easier with luggage.
Good to know
Maihama and Resort Gateway are adjacent but separate stations. JR tickets and IC fares don't include travel on the Disney Resort Line.
Hotel shuttle schedules can change, and traffic after park closing may delay buses. Check the current timetable when the transfer is time-sensitive.
