What this station is useful for

Overview

Niseko Station is in the town center, not at the ski slopes. JR Hokkaido's Hakodate Main Line stops here, and the surrounding Niseko Station Area has tourist information and a day-use hot-spring bathhouse nearby.

Lines and connections

Trains run toward Kutchan and Otaru in one direction, and toward Rankoshi and Oshamambe in the other. For Sapporo, check connections through Otaru. Local services are infrequent, so check the entire journey before leaving.

Airport access

From New Chitose Airport, the rail journey goes through Otaru, where you'll change to a local service for Niseko. There is no direct airport train. Allow time for the wait between services, and arrange onward transport if your hotel is in a resort district.

Station area

Kira no Yu is one minute on foot from the station and accepts day visitors for hot-spring bathing. Tourist information for the town and surrounding area is also available at the station.

Good to know

Niseko Village is separate from the railway station, and Moxy Niseko Village is about ten minutes away by car. Arrange a taxi or check the seasonal bus route before arrival, especially if you're carrying ski equipment.
