Overview
Air Terminal Hotel is located inside the Domestic Terminal area of New Chitose Airport, making it one of the easiest overnight options for early flights, late arrivals, and airport-focused stays. Entrances are near Arrival Gate 5 on the first floor and Departure Gate E on the second floor, with the front desk upstairs within the terminal complex.
Its biggest advantage is simple: you are already at the airport. New Chitose Airport Station is about five minutes away on foot, and the terminal's shops, restaurants, flight counters, and airport services are all within the same indoor complex.
Rooms
Rooms are divided between runway-side and parking-lot-side views. Runway-side options include single, double, twin, and family layouts, while parking-lot-side rooms include Hollywood twin, standard twin, and standard triple categories.
Published room sizes range from 20 square meters for standard single and double rooms to 60 square meters for the family room. That gives the hotel more flexibility than a basic airport sleep option, especially for travelers who want a proper room before or after a flight.
Facilities
Facilities are designed around airport convenience rather than resort-style extras. Guests have access to free Wi-Fi in the lobby and rooms, vending machines, an ice machine, a small shop, paid copy and fax services, rental items, and an automatic check-in machine.
Hotel guests can also use New Chitose Airport Onsen free of charge during the designated guest hours after collecting an admission ticket from the front desk. The onsen is about five minutes from the hotel, making it a genuine perk when there is time before bed or before a flight.
Dining
Breakfast is served at the hotel restaurant on the third floor. It is a complimentary Japanese and Western buffet for hotel guests, available from 6:00 AM to 9:30 AM, with final entry at 9:15 AM.
The hotel restaurant does not currently cover lunch or dinner, so guests use the airport terminal's restaurants and shops for other meals when they are open.
Location and transport
The hotel is directly connected to New Chitose Airport's Domestic Terminal Building. From the International Terminal, follow the second-floor connecting route toward the Domestic Terminal and Departure Gate E.
JR New Chitose Airport Station is on B1F of the terminal building, about five minutes from the hotel. Airport trains connect the terminal with Sapporo in about 30 minutes without transfers, so central Sapporo remains reachable even when you spend the night at the airport.
Airport access
This is an in-terminal airport hotel, not simply a hotel near the airport. Domestic flights, airport rail, terminal shopping, airport buses, taxis, and rental-car services are all within the broader terminal area.
For drivers, the hotel does not provide its own guest-only or affiliated parking. New Chitose Airport Parking Area B is the closest airport parking area, with access from that side via Connecting Bridge B toward the Domestic Terminal.
Why stay here
Air Terminal Hotel is strongest when flight timing matters most. It works well for travelers who want to avoid an early transfer from Sapporo, rest inside the terminal area after a late arrival, or combine an airport overnight with JR access, breakfast, and a proper room.
The tradeoff is that you are choosing airport convenience over a city stay. It is excellent for terminal access, trains, and weather-buffer nights, but less appealing if your trip is centered on Sapporo restaurants, nightlife, or several days of sightseeing from the city.
Good to know
Although the hotel is inside the airport complex, the terminal is large. Leave enough time to walk between the hotel, JR platforms, airline counters, the international side, airport parking, and the onsen, especially when carrying luggage.
