Overview
In Bandai, between Niigata Station and the Shinano River, ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel Niigata is about ten minutes on foot from the station's Bandai side. Bandai Bridge is roughly 0.5 kilometres away, while Pia Bandai market is about 0.7 kilometres away.
The hotel has several restaurants, a 24-hour guest gym, and substantial meeting space. The upper guest floors were renovated in 2025. It isn't directly connected to the station.
Rooms
Guest rooms occupy floors six through fifteen, and all are non-smoking. Most single, double, and twin categories measure between 16 and 33 square metres. Larger options include a 44-square-metre accessible room and suites of 50 or 100 square metres.
The Premium floors on levels fourteen and fifteen were renovated in February 2025, followed by the Comfort floors on levels ten through twelve in April. Check the category carefully because space, bed layout, floor, and furnishings vary considerably.
Facilities
The 24-hour fitness room is free for overnight guests aged 18 and older. It has cardio equipment, weights, and an area for mat exercises. There is no swimming pool.
On the sixth floor, guests can use an ice machine, microwave, and drink vending machines at any time. The paid car park holds 115 vehicles and has two EV charging spaces. It can fill, and the hotel has no affiliated overflow lot.
Dining
Season Cafe serves breakfast from 6:00 to 10:00. Its buffet features Niigata-grown Koshihikari rice, freshly prepared rice balls, and regional dishes alongside standard Japanese and Western choices.
Later meals range from buffet dining to Japanese, Chinese, and teppanyaki cooking. A bar on the sixteenth floor looks across the city. Opening days and reservation requirements vary by venue, so check the current schedule before planning dinner.
Location and transport
The hotel is on the Bandai side of the Niigata Station Area, reached from the station by an outdoor walk. From Niigata Station, the Joetsu Shinkansen runs directly to Tokyo, while local JR lines serve Nagaoka, Shibata, Yoshida, and other parts of the prefecture.
Bandai City Bus Center, Bandai Bridge, and the Shinano River are closer to the hotel than the railway. Pia Bandai and Toki Messe are also within the surrounding waterfront district. Reaching the Sado ferry terminal takes about five minutes by taxi or 25 minutes on foot.
Airport access
A regular bus from Niigata Airport reaches Bandai City Bus Center in about 33 minutes, followed by a walk of roughly six minutes. Direct limousine buses take about 25 minutes to Niigata Station's South Exit, which is around 18 minutes from the hotel on foot.
Neither option provides hotel-door service. A taxi from the airport takes about 20 minutes under normal road conditions. Check current bus times and allow extra time in traffic or winter weather.
Why stay here
Room sizes and several places to eat give guests more choice than at a compact station hotel. The walk to the trains takes ten minutes outdoors and is harder with luggage or in poor weather.
Bandai Bridge and the Shinano River promenade are nearby. Pia Bandai has a fresh-food market and seafood restaurants, with regional produce, rice, and sake sold on site.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 14:00, and checkout is by 11:00. All guest rooms are non-smoking, with a separate smoking room on the second floor.
The gym is limited to guests aged 18 and older. Parking costs extra and may fill. Airport buses stop at Bandai City or Niigata Station rather than at the hotel entrance.
