Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Centurion Hotel & Spa Classic Izumo is about three minutes on foot from Izumoshi Station, with communal baths and saunas on the first floor. The central location keeps JR arrivals straightforward. Izumo Taisha is farther away and requires a separate bus or train journey.

Rooms

Comfort Doubles measure 20.06 square meters and have a 140-centimeter-wide bed. The 21.28-square-meter Superior King has a wider, 180-centimeter bed, with an extra bed available for a third guest. If you're booking for three, check the sleeping arrangement carefully.

Connecting twins combine two rooms, each with two beds and space for two guests. Families and groups can stay together without sharing a single bedroom. The 68-square-meter suite accommodates up to six people using two king beds and two extra beds, so maximum occupancy requires guests to share the king beds. An accessible twin is also available.

Facilities

The men's and women's communal baths each have a sauna, cold bath, and fresh-air relaxation space. They normally remain open around the clock. Cleaning takes place from 11am to 1pm while the baths are still available, though staff will enter during that period. Any inspection closures are announced at check-in.

Guests with tattoos cannot use the communal baths. Paid coin laundry is available for longer stays or trips continuing through the region.

Dining

The first-floor restaurant, EN-BRIDGE, serves a choice of Japanese or Western breakfast from 6:30am to 10am, with last orders at 9:30am. Both options feature local ingredients.

In the evening, overnight guests can have a complimentary small bowl of ramen with Lake Shinji clams. It's a snack rather than dinner and is served from 8pm to 10pm, with last orders at 9:30pm, while supplies last.

Location and transport

From JR Izumoshi, Yakumo limited express trains run to Matsue and Okayama Station, where passengers can change to the Shinkansen. The hotel isn't directly connected to the railway, but the three-minute walk removes the need for a local bus or taxi after arrival.

Dentetsu Izumoshi Station, the separate Ichibata Railway stop, is about four minutes away on foot. Most train journeys to Izumo Taisha require a change at Kawato for Izumotaisha-mae, followed by a walk to the shrine. Buses from the JR station provide another option.

Airport access

Direct buses connect Izumo Airport with the JR station's North Exit in about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. From there, walk to the hotel. For the return journey, check the airport-bound timetable before departure; the bus stops at the station rather than the hotel door.

Why stay here

A JR arrival followed by a shrine visit is simple to organize from this location, with time for a bath or sauna when you return. Connecting rooms also give families separate sleeping space while keeping everyone close.

Leave time for the shrine district itself. After visiting Izumo Taisha, you can browse the shops and eat at a soba restaurant along Shinmon-dori before returning to central Izumo.

Good to know

Check-in begins at 3pm, and check-out is by 11am. Tell the hotel if you'll arrive later than planned, as reservations without contact are canceled at 11pm. Drivers use paid partner parking rather than a dedicated hotel car park.
