Overview

The cafe stays open until midnight. Comfort Hotel ERA Kobe Sannomiya's guest-only Library Cafe gives you somewhere to read, plan the next day, or enjoy a free coffee without heading straight back to your room.

The hotel is east of the multi-operator rail cluster around Sannomiya Station. From there, trains serve destinations around Kobe and toward Osaka, the subway reaches the Shinkansen at Shin-Kobe Station in one stop, and the Port Liner runs directly to Kobe Airport.

Rooms

All rooms are non-smoking. Doubles and queens are the compact choices, while standard twins provide more floor space. With three separate beds, the Family Room is the clearest option for a group that wants to stay together.

A 28-square-meter universal room is also available, but it must be reserved by contacting the hotel. Standard room categories use Serta mattresses, and the televisions display current crowding at breakfast and in the coin laundry.

Facilities

Reserved for staying guests from 10:00 AM until midnight, the Library Cafe is also available before check-in and after checkout. Free coffee and tea, charging points, Wi-Fi, and more than 100 books make it a genuine lounge rather than simply a breakfast room. Afternoon sweets are complimentary, while alcohol and snacks during the evening service cost extra.

Self check-in machines simplify arrival, and a self-service cloakroom holds luggage before or after a stay. The 24-hour coin laundry is helpful on longer trips.

Dining

A paid breakfast buffet runs from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM in the Library Cafe. The spread covers salads, fruit, hot dishes, and eggs prepared at a live cooking station, with several items using ingredients from Hyogo and Awaji Island.

After breakfast, the cafe returns to lounge use rather than operating as a full restaurant. Sannomiya's surrounding streets provide a much broader choice for lunch and dinner.

Location and transport

The shortest published approach is about four minutes from Hanshin's A23 exit. JR Sannomiya's East Exit is about five minutes away, while the subway and Hankyu approaches take roughly six to seven minutes. Despite sharing the Sannomiya name, these are separate stations and gates.

Shin-Kobe Station is one subway stop away for Sanyo Shinkansen services. JR, Hanshin, and Hankyu serve different routes toward Osaka and western Hyogo, so the best operator depends on the day's destination.

Airport access

Port Liner trains run directly between Sannomiya and Kobe Airport in about 18 minutes. The hotel publishes an additional walk of about five minutes between its entrance and the Port Liner platforms.

There isn't a hotel shuttle. If you're carrying luggage, allow a little extra time to reach the elevated Port Liner station and find the correct entrance on your return.

Why stay here

A one-stop subway trip from the Shinkansen and a direct Port Liner ride from Kobe Airport keep arrival fairly simple. The Library Cafe also provides a comfortable place to wait before check-in or plan the next day. The main caveat is clear: the hotel isn't connected to any of Sannomiya's stations.

Beyond the rail cluster, Kobe-Sannomiya brings Center Gai shopping, Ikuta Shrine, and the route west toward Motomachi into the same downtown area. Restaurants and bars are also nearby when you return from a day out.

Good to know

Check the railway operator and exit before arrival. Hanshin's A23 exit gives the shortest walk, but JR, Hankyu, subway, and Port Liner passengers each follow a different route.

Breakfast costs extra unless it's included in your room plan, and standard checkout is at 10:00 AM.
