Overview
Holiday Inn Kyoto Gojo is a three-minute walk from Gojo Station, one stop north of Kyoto Station on the Karasuma Line. Travelers arriving by Shinkansen or airport transport make one short subway transfer, while the hotel provides a choice of standard-room sizes, on-site dining, and a public bath on the top floor.
Gojo itself isn't a major sightseeing district. Downtown shopping is one stop away at Shijo, while reaching Gion or Kiyomizu-dera requires a bus, taxi, or onward rail connection.
Rooms
Standard rooms range from 18 to 24 square meters, with king, super king, and twin options. The 47-square-meter one-bedroom suite has two twin beds. Rooms with similar bed types can differ in size, so check the listed floor area when booking.
One accessible room is listed, and cribs are available on request. If either is essential, confirm availability before booking.
Facilities
The public bath is on the top floor, with city views that include Kyoto Tower. There's also a fitness center, self-service laundry, and luggage storage, all useful during a longer stay or before and after checkout.
The hotel is entirely non-smoking. Meeting and banquet rooms accommodate groups, with the largest setup listed for up to 130 people.
Dining
BONDO serves a buffet breakfast from 6:30 to 10:30 am, combining international dishes with selected local specialties. Under Holiday Inn's current offer, children aged 12 and under receive complimentary breakfast when accompanied by an adult ordering breakfast.
BONDO Cafe & Bar in the lobby serves light meals, snacks, and drinks. It's useful when you don't want to head out again after sightseeing.
Location and transport
Gojo Station is the main transport link. Trains run one stop south to Kyoto Station and one stop north to Shijo, the convenient stop for Kyoto Shijo-Karasuma and Nishiki Market. Gion and Kiyomizu-dera are better reached by bus, taxi, or a combination of rail and walking.
With luggage, a taxi from Kyoto Station may be worthwhile. Otherwise, the subway keeps the transfer short and avoids central Kyoto road traffic.
Airport access
The hotel doesn't operate an airport shuttle. If you're arriving by airport train or bus, transfer at Kyoto Station and continue one subway stop to Gojo, or take a taxi directly to the hotel.
Why stay here
Kyoto Station is one subway stop away, which keeps Shinkansen connections straightforward without placing the hotel beside the main rail hub. The choice of room sizes, public bath, and on-site dining also matters on a multi-night stay.
Families may find extra value in the children's breakfast offer. The subway also places Kyoto Station and the Shijo shopping area one stop away in opposite directions.
Good to know
The hotel isn't directly connected to the subway, so allow about three minutes to walk from Gojo Station. General parking isn't available. The limited parking area is reserved for guests who require assistance, and advance contact is recommended.
Gojo Station is Karasuma Line stop K10. It isn't Kiyomizu-Gojo Station on the Keihan Line. They are separate stations.
