Overview
Among the three Forza hotels around Hakata Station, Hotel Forza Hakataeki Hakata-Guchi is the one on the Hakata Exit side. The JR platforms and Hakata Bus Terminal are both about three minutes away; the two Chikushi-guchi hotels are across the tracks.
All 113 rooms are non-smoking. Breakfast begins at 6:30, the restaurant becomes a coffee lounge later in the day, and selected double rooms have massage equipment. It's a compact hotel with thoughtful extras for a short stay in Fukuoka-Hakata.
Rooms
Most rooms are doubles measuring 18 or 19 square metres. The Forza, Refresh, and Healing categories have similar footprints, so the extra features distinguish them. The Refresh Double has a foot massager and facial steamer, while the Healing Double adds a massage sofa.
For two beds and a less compact bathroom layout, consider the 27-square-metre Relaxing Twin. Its toilet and washbasin are separate, and the bath has a dedicated washing area. A 21-square-metre Universal Room is available for one guest.
Facilities
Coin laundry and an ice machine are on the second floor, while the front desk and lounge are on the first. Every room has Wi-Fi, wired internet, a Simmons bed, charging support, and a ReFa shower head.
The entire building is non-smoking, with no indoor smoking booth. There is also no dedicated or affiliated parking, so drivers need to use a nearby public car park.
Dining
Breakfast is served on the first floor from 6:30 to 10:30. The buffet combines Japanese and Western staples with regional dishes such as mentaiko, chicken rice, and motsunabe. The early start is helpful when the day's first train or bus leaves soon afterward.
After breakfast, the restaurant becomes a free coffee lounge. It's a handy place to pause, plan the day, or meet before heading out.
Location and transport
The three-minute walk from Hakata Station's Hakata Exit keeps JR services, the Shinkansen, and both Fukuoka subway lines close. Hakata Bus Terminal is also about three minutes away, serving city routes and highway buses.
This side of the station is convenient for JR Hakata City, the bus terminal, and streets leading toward Gion and Hakata Old Town. The Shinkansen platforms remain easy to reach, although you'll cross the rail complex rather than arrive beside the Chikushi Exit.
Airport access
Airport Line trains run directly between Fukuoka Airport's domestic terminal and Hakata in about five minutes. From Hakata, continue to the Hakata Exit for the short walk to the hotel.
The subway station is attached to the domestic terminal, not the international terminal. International arrivals can take the airport's free inter-terminal shuttle before boarding the subway, or travel to Hakata by bus or taxi.
Why stay here
A short walk to both Hakata Station and the bus terminal simplifies airport transfers, early train journeys, and highway-bus departures. The compact doubles accommodate one or two guests, while the Relaxing Twin gives two travelers more breathing room. No on-site parking is the main tradeoff.
JR Hakata City places shopping, dining, a cinema, and a rooftop garden close to the hotel. Farther west, Hakata Old Town adds temples, shrines, and the city's older merchant quarter to a stay otherwise shaped by transport convenience.
