Overview
Hotel Global View Niigata faces Niigata Station's Bandai Plaza, about one minute from the trains. It isn't directly connected to the station, so the final part of the walk is outdoors.
The Joetsu Shinkansen, local JR trains, CoCoLo shops, and city buses are all close by. After arriving, overnight guests can use the basement artificial mineral bath, sauna, and rest area without leaving the building.
Rooms
Guest rooms come in six layouts. Singles measure 13.7 square metres, Doubles 15.4 square metres, and Hollywood Doubles and Twins 18.1 square metres. All rooms are non-smoking and have private unit baths.
The 36.2-square-metre Deluxe Twin accommodates up to four guests with two sofa beds. The 38.1-square-metre Universal Room has three single beds, a sloped route to the bathroom, and handrails inside it. Bookings for both larger categories require a phone inquiry.
Facilities
The basement bath, Echigo-yu, is reserved for overnight guests and uses an artificial mineral bath additive. It is open from 15:00 until 10:00 the following morning, while the sauna closes at midnight.
The rest area has more than 400 manga and three massage chairs. Coin-operated laundry and shared microwaves are on the fifth and eleventh floors. Third-floor meeting and banquet rooms can host standing events for up to 250 people.
Dining
DINING EDIT ECHIGO serves a buffet breakfast from 6:30 to 10:00. The buffet includes local rice and Niigata dishes such as tare-katsu pork cutlets, Tochio fried tofu, and sasa dango.
The same second-floor restaurant serves lunch and cafe drinks until 17:00. For dinner, CoCoLo and the Bandai side have other restaurants.
Location and transport
The hotel is on the Bandai side of the Niigata Station Area. The Joetsu Shinkansen runs directly to Tokyo, while conventional JR services cover Nagaoka, Shibata, Yoshida, and other parts of the prefecture. CoCoLo provides food and basic shopping inside the station.
Local buses run through Bandai and Furumachi. Other services reach Toki Messe and the port.
Airport access
Direct limousine buses take about 25 minutes between Niigata Airport and Niigata Station. They use the South Exit, on the opposite side of the tracks from the hotel.
Allow about 10 minutes to walk between the airport bus stop and the hotel. There is no hotel-door airport bus.
Why stay here
The one-minute walk across the plaza keeps early trains and late arrivals simple. Guests can use the bath and sauna after a day on the trains or around the city. Standard room categories measure 13.7 to 18.1 square metres, so book a larger category if extra floor space matters.
Bandai Bridge is about 15 minutes on foot from the station's Bandai side, along a route through Bandai. Furumachi is across the Shinano River. For Toki Messe or the port, a local bus avoids a longer walk.
Good to know
The route from Bandai Plaza to the hotel is outdoors. Direct airport buses use the South Exit rather than the plaza in front of the hotel.
Take your room towels to the public bath because towels aren't supplied in its changing area. Guests with tattoos cannot use the public bath.
