Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Hotel Route-Inn Tsuruga Ekimae is located two minutes on foot from Tsuruga Station's West Exit, with free breakfast and public baths.

Rooms

Single and semi-double rooms in the main building measure 12 square metres, while twin rooms measure 16 square metres. All have private bathrooms.

The men-only annex has 10-square-metre single rooms without a bath or shower. Annex guests use the men's public bath in either building. Women must book the main building.

Facilities

The main building has separate public baths for men and women, filled with mineral-treated water rather than water from a natural hot spring. They're open from 3pm to 2am and again from 5am to 10am.

Coin-operated laundry is available in both buildings.

Dining

Hanachaya serves a free Japanese and Western breakfast buffet from 6am to 9am on the first floor of the main building. On busy dates, guests receive timed breakfast tickets at check-in.

Location and transport

The two-minute walk begins at the West Exit, also called the Machinami Exit. The Shinkansen platforms are farther inside the station, so allow extra time before departure.

Thunderbird limited express trains connect Tsuruga with Kyoto and Osaka. For journeys farther into Hokuriku, take the Shinkansen to Fukui or Kanazawa; direct trains also continue to Tokyo.

Airport access

From Komatsu Airport, the bus ride to Komatsu Station takes about 12 minutes. Continue to Tsuruga on the Hokuriku Shinkansen, allowing enough time for the connection.

Why stay here

The short walk to the trains and breakfast from 6am can simplify an early departure. The baths are open late if you return after dinner.

The Tsuruga Station Area has restaurants around Otta and covered shopping streets leading toward Kehi Jingu Shrine. For a longer outing, continue to the port's Red Brick Warehouses and railway diorama.

Good to know

Free parking is available on a first-come, first-served basis. If the hotel lot is full, you'll need to use paid municipal parking nearby.
