Overview
JR Kyushu Hotel Blossom Fukuoka is best for travelers who want Hakata's rail connections close at hand without staying on the busier Hakata Exit side. From Hakata Station's Chikushi Exit, the walk takes about two minutes, with the Shinkansen platforms, Subway Airport Line, and Hakata Bus Terminal all within easy reach.
The location works well for business trips, city sightseeing, and rail travel around Kyushu. The surrounding streets feel more like an office district than a nightlife area, so the hotel is a better match for quick movement through Hakata than for late-night entertainment immediately outside the door. Inside, the style is classic, with European-inspired public spaces and guest-room accents based on Hakata-ori design.
Rooms
The hotel has 90 non-smoking rooms across single, double, and twin categories. Standard Single rooms are 15 to 19 sq m and have 120 cm by 200 cm beds. Superior Double rooms are 21 sq m, with 160 cm by 200 cm beds for one or two guests. Twin rooms begin at 24 sq m, while the 44 sq m Deluxe Twin adds Hollywood twin beds and more room for relaxing or handling luggage.
Rooms use a restrained brown and black color palette, with indirect lighting and proper desks for working, reading, or planning the next day's route. Serta mattresses, duvet bedding, and Imabari towels give the rooms a rest-focused feel.
Connectivity is strong, with Wi-Fi and wired LAN in the rooms; LAN cables can be borrowed if needed. TVs support casting from guests' own streaming services. Each room also includes a humidifier-air purifier, mineral water, and a bathroom with a washlet.
Facilities
The lobby has sofas and tables, making it an easy meeting spot before heading out. Wireless internet is available in both the lobby and guest rooms, and the in-room wired connections are helpful for guests who prefer a steadier setup.
On the fourth floor, guests will find soft-drink vending machines, an ice machine, and a 24-hour coin laundry. A smoking booth is also on that floor. Trouser presses are placed on each guest floor, and the hotel offers paid laundry service, delivery service, and parking.
Dining
Breakfast is served on B1 at Hakata Yakiniku NURUBON. The morning meal is set-menu style rather than a standard buffet, with choices such as Japanese Black Wagyu rice bowls, sukiyaki hot pot, and spicy tofu stew. Fukuoka flavors also appear in a squid and mentaiko bowl. A children's menu is available for guests up to age 12.
On weekdays, breakfast runs from 6:30 am to 10:00 am. On weekends and holidays, it runs from 7:00 am to 10:00 am. Last entry is at 9:30 am. Breakfast costs 2,420 yen for adults and 1,210 yen for children. NURUBON also opens for lunch and dinner as a 94-seat yakiniku and Korean restaurant.
Location and transport
For arrival, note that this property is on the Chikushi Exit side of Hakata Station, not the Hakata Exit side. From Chikushi Exit, walk along Chikushiguchi Chuo-dori for about 150 m, then turn near Lawson; the hotel is behind the convenience store. If you are arriving by subway, Hakata Station East Exit 7 also gives a short final approach.
For travel around Fukuoka, Tenjin is three subway stops from Hakata. Hakata Bus Terminal is close enough to reach on foot, and the nearby JR hub keeps onward trips around Kyushu straightforward.
Airport access
From Fukuoka Airport Domestic Terminal, take the Fukuoka Municipal Subway Airport Line from Fukuoka Airport Station to Hakata Station. The ride takes about five minutes and covers two stops. From there, continue on foot from Chikushi Exit or East Exit 7.
From Fukuoka Airport International Terminal, a Nishitetsu Bus runs from bus stop No. 2 in the arrival-lobby area to Hakata Station in about 20 minutes. Another option is the free shuttle between the international and domestic terminals. The shuttle takes about 15 minutes, after which you can continue by subway from the domestic side.
Why stay here
Choose this hotel if Hakata's rail, subway, and bus links matter more than having nightlife at the doorstep. The Chikushi Exit location is especially convenient for early departures, late returns, and quick transfers through Hakata.
The rooms are a good match for travelers who want a proper desk, dependable connectivity, and bedding designed for rest. Breakfast also has more character than a standard hotel buffet, especially if you want to try Wagyu or Fukuoka mentaiko without leaving the building in the morning.
