Overview
KOKO HOTEL Hakata Shinkansenguchi is a four-minute walk from Hakata Station's Chikushi Exit. This is the Shinkansen side of the station, so bullet-train arrivals don't need to cross to the opposite side of the rail complex.
Back at the hotel, you can take a bath or read with a coffee in the library lounge. These shared spaces are welcome additions to the compact guest rooms, particularly during a stay of several nights in Fukuoka.
Rooms
Single and semi-double rooms measure 12 square metres and have one 140-centimetre-wide bed. A semi-double means sharing that bed; it doesn't provide more floor space than the single. With two people and large suitcases, room to unpack will be limited.
Twin rooms provide 17 square metres and two separate 100-centimetre-wide beds. Every room is non-smoking and has a private bathroom, so the shared baths are entirely optional.
Facilities
The second-floor public baths are free for staying guests and separated by gender. They open from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. and again from 5:00 to 10:00 a.m., leaving time for a soak after dinner or before a morning departure. Bring the towels from your room. The room television shows how busy the baths are.
The library lounge has books, Wi-Fi, and complimentary coffee around the clock. Coin laundry helps during a longer trip, while baggage storage allows you to leave bags at the hotel on arrival and departure days.
Dining
Complimentary breakfast is served from 6:00 to 9:30 a.m. and consists of bread, coffee, and juice. It's a light meal rather than a hot buffet, but the early start is helpful before catching a train.
For something more substantial, Hakata Station has a broad choice of restaurants near the hotel. Coffee remains available in the lounge after breakfast ends.
Location and transport
Use the Chikushi Exit when arriving on JR trains. From the subway, East Exit 6 is about two minutes from the hotel. The route follows the street, and the hotel isn't directly connected to the station.
Hakata Station provides onward rail connections around Kyushu as well as subway services within Fukuoka. Having both nearby is especially convenient if the city is one stop on a longer journey through Japan.
Airport access
Fukuoka Airport's domestic terminal is connected to Hakata Station by subway, with a ride of about five minutes. Allow additional time to walk through the station and continue to the hotel.
From the international terminal, take the free inter-terminal shuttle to the domestic terminal before boarding the subway. The five-minute train ride doesn't include that airport transfer, so an international departure requires more time.
Why stay here
A short walk to Hakata Station's Shinkansen side and breakfast from 6:00 a.m. simplify the start of an early rail journey. After returning, the public baths provide somewhere to unwind without booking a larger room.
Nearby JR Hakata City has a rooftop garden with an observation terrace overlooking the city and a separate area for watching trains enter and leave the station. It's easy to visit before dinner in the station complex without adding another subway journey.

Older booking pages may use the name Hotel Wing International Hakata Shinkansenguchi. It refers to the same hotel on the Chikushi Exit side, so use the full current name when checking directions.
