Overview
Mitsui Garden Hotel Otemachi is located in Uchikanda, just north of Otemachi Station. Subway lines provide routes across central Tokyo, while Tokyo's main Shinkansen station is within walking distance. On the first floor, the bakery cafe serves breakfast before becoming a guest lounge later in the day.
Neither station is directly connected to the hotel, so the final part of the walk is outdoors.
Rooms
Standard Double rooms measure 18 square meters and have a 150-centimeter-wide bed. Standard Twins measure 22.3 square meters, while Superior Twins measure 24.9 square meters. The twin categories are worth comparing when two people want separate beds and more floor space.
All rooms are non-smoking. The accessible double room also measures 24.9 square meters; contact the hotel about its layout if you have specific access needs. Standard Queen rooms have a desk and reclining chair in 18.3 square meters if you plan to work in your room.
Facilities
The cafe is reserved exclusively for overnight guests from 3pm to 10pm, when coffee, tea and snacks are available. Coin-operated laundry is located on the third and fourth floors, and guests can use a shared microwave on the second floor.
Dining
TOKYO BAKER'S KITCHEN bakes bread on site and serves sandwiches, vegetable deli dishes and soup for breakfast. You can also take breakfast back to your room instead of eating in the cafe.
Breakfast runs from 6:30am to 10am on weekdays and until 11am on weekends and public holidays. Last entry is half an hour before closing. Check whether breakfast is included in your room rate.
Location and transport
Otemachi Station's A2 exit, near the Marunouchi Line, is about three minutes away on foot. Exit A5 is about five minutes away and is the hotel's recommended approach for the other four lines. The Marunouchi Line runs directly to Ginza and Shinjuku, while the Hanzomon Line reaches Shibuya without a transfer.
Tokyo Station is about ten minutes away via either the Marunouchi North Exit or the Nihonbashi Exit. Use it for Shinkansen departures and JR journeys. The stated walking time reaches the station exit, not your platform, so allow extra time inside the station.
Airport access
From Narita Airport, take the Narita Express directly to Tokyo Station and walk to the hotel. From Haneda Airport, take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho, then change to the JR Yamanote Line for Tokyo Station. Both routes end with an outdoor walk, so include that time in your arrival plans.
Why stay here
For a trip that combines sightseeing in Tokyo with onward Shinkansen travel, you can use Otemachi for daily subway journeys and walk to Tokyo Station on departure day. You won't need a local train just to reach the Shinkansen station.
The surrounding Tokyo Station and Marunouchi area has shops and restaurants for breaks between sightseeing trips. You can also visit the Imperial Palace East Gardens for a walk through landscaped grounds and the remains of Edo Castle. Check the garden's opening days before visiting.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 3pm, and checkout is at 11am. The hotel has no parking. If you're driving, arrange a separate parking space before arrival.
