Overview

ONE FUKUOKA HOTEL occupies the 18th and 19th floors of ONE FUKUOKA BLDG. in Fukuoka-Tenjin. Shops and restaurants are close enough to visit on foot. Inside, the guest lounge and public bath give you somewhere to take a break between outings.

Rooms

Superior King rooms measure 35 square metres, with floor-to-ceiling windows and a king bed for one or two guests. Terrace Twins combine a 40-square-metre interior with a 13-square-metre terrace and outdoor sofa. A sofa bed inside accommodates a third guest.

Connecting rooms can be arranged through the hotel, subject to availability. Ask before booking separate rooms if your group wants to stay together. All guest rooms are non-smoking.

Facilities

The public bath on the 18th floor has a dry sauna, cold bath and outdoor deck for cooling down afterwards. Tattoos must be covered when using the bath. On the same floor, the guest-only Library Lounge has books about Fukuoka, Kyushu and Asia, plus complimentary coffee, tea, ice cream and light snacks from 6am to 10pm.

Paid self-service laundry is available for longer stays. The seventh-floor gym is open around the clock, though children under 15 aren't admitted even with an adult. Exercise clothes and shoes aren't available to rent, so bring your own.

Dining

THE KITCHEN serves breakfast, lunch and dinner on the 19th floor. Breakfast pairs a buffet of bread, fruit, salads and hot dishes with a main course selected from the menu. Service begins at 7am, with last entry at 9:30am. Choose a breakfast-inclusive rate if you want the meal included in your stay.

THE ROOF is an outdoor rooftop cafe and bar with views towards Hakata Bay. You can have an after-dinner drink here without going back out into Tenjin.

Location and transport

The building connects directly to Tenjin Station through the East ticket gate. The Airport Line journey from Hakata Station takes about six minutes. Shinkansen passengers can change there for the subway to Tenjin.

Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station is a three-minute walk away and serves the Tenjin Omuta Line. It is a separate railway station. For Hakata Station and the airport, use the subway from Tenjin Station.

Airport access

From the subway station at Fukuoka Airport's Domestic Terminal, the Airport Line reaches Tenjin directly in about 11 minutes. That's the train time only, so allow extra time to reach the platform and walk through the building to the hotel.

If you arrive at the International Terminal, take the free inter-terminal shuttle to the Domestic Terminal before boarding the subway. The airport station isn't located at the International Terminal.

Why stay here

You can spend a day shopping and eating in Tenjin, then return for a bath or a drink without another train journey. A terrace room adds private outdoor space if you expect to spend more time at the hotel.

Tenjin Underground Mall extends through passages connected to the subway station, with shops, cafes and restaurants below ground. The covered passages are an option for shopping in wet weather, and the surrounding department stores offer more shops nearby.

Good to know

Standard check-in begins at 3pm, and check-out is by noon, although individual plans may differ. Contact the hotel if you'll arrive after 10pm or if your expected arrival time changes substantially.
