Overview
SAPPORO STREAM HOTEL occupies the upper floors of COCONO SUSUKINO in the heart of Sapporo-Susukino, with a direct connection to Exit 5 of Susukino Station. Restaurants, shops, and a cinema share the building, while the surrounding streets are known for bars and late-night dining.
Dinner can end with only a short walk back, and the subway is ready for sightseeing the next morning. The sheltered station connection is especially welcome in snowy or rainy weather.
Rooms
The choice runs from compact doubles and twins to corner rooms, a family room, and three spacious suites. Entry-level doubles measure 17.6 square metres, standard twins are 24.2 square metres, and the largest suite reaches 91.5 square metres. That range makes it worth comparing dimensions and layouts rather than relying on category names alone.
All rooms are non-smoking. Connecting rooms can be requested in some categories, which may help families or friends travelling together.
Facilities
Reserved for overnight guests, the 18th-floor rooftop terrace stands about 78 metres above the street and looks across central Sapporo. On clear days, the view may reach Ishikari Bay. The premium lounge on the same floor serves drinks and Hokkaido sweets during the afternoon and evening, plus a separate breakfast for eligible guests.
The top floor also has large baths and a Finnish-style sauna. Access to the lounge, baths, and sauna depends on the booked room category, so don't assume they're included with every stay.
The fitness room opens during the day and evening, while the coin laundry is available around the clock. Every overnight guest can also join a daily social hour with complimentary drinks.
Dining
BAR & GRILL Splish serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The breakfast buffet emphasizes Hokkaido ingredients through seafood rice bowls, soup curry, rotating regional dishes, and make-your-own soft-serve parfaits. Lunch is also a buffet, while dinner and bar service focus on grilled dishes, Hokkaido wines, and whiskies.
You'll also find many places to eat inside COCONO SUSUKINO and throughout the surrounding district.
Location and transport
The subway entrance is inside COCONO SUSUKINO, so there is no street crossing between the building and Exit 5. On the Namboku Line, Odori is one stop north and Sapporo Station is the following stop, with the ride from Susukino taking around four minutes.
Pole Town, the underground shopping passage connected to COCONO, continues toward Odori and extends the sheltered route through central Sapporo. Not every journey remains indoors, but the network reduces time outside during winter weather.
The Sapporo Streetcar's Susukino stop is about one minute away, providing another option for trips around the southwest side of central Sapporo.
Airport access
Reaching the hotel by rail from New Chitose Airport requires a transfer at Sapporo Station. JR Hokkaido's Airport trains make that first leg in as little as 33 minutes, followed by two stops on the Namboku Line to Susukino. The hotel estimates about one hour for the complete rail-and-subway journey.
The transfer is manageable. Travellers carrying several bags, however, may find a stay near Sapporo Station simpler for arrival and departure.
Why stay here
Direct subway access takes some of the friction out of snowy arrivals, rainy days, and sightseeing, while Odori is only one stop away. Frequent JR day trips change the calculation: several early trains or the simplest possible airport journey may favour staying near Sapporo Station instead.
Food and nightlife define the immediate surroundings. Susukino's restaurants and bars continue late into the evening, while COCONO's shops and cinema provide convenient alternatives without another journey.
Good to know
There is no dedicated hotel parking. Drivers can use the affiliated COCONO garage or nearby partner garages, but spaces cannot be reserved. Susukino remains lively well into the night, so the surrounding streets feel energetic rather than residential.
