Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Direct access to Shibuya Station is the defining advantage of Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu. The hotel occupies the East building of Shibuya Mark City, with indoor routes to JR and the Keio Inokashira Line, plus short connections to the Tokyu and Tokyo Metro platforms.

Its 408 rooms occupy floors 7 through 24, with layouts for couples, families, and small groups. High-floor restaurants overlook Tokyo, and direct buses connect the hotel with Haneda and Narita airports.

Rooms

Single and semi-double rooms measure about 20.5 square meters, while standard doubles range from 22.3 to 23.3 square meters. Twin rooms generally provide 30 to 32.8 square meters, giving two travelers more space than the entry-level doubles.

Triple rooms measure 38 square meters, and four-bed rooms offer 38.4 square meters with separate bathrooms and toilets. Crossing-view Twin rooms are available on the Superior and Excel floors. For more specialized stays, the hotel also has a 60.5-square-meter Accessible room and a 92.8-square-meter Suite.

Facilities

Facilities include meeting and banquet rooms, room-key-controlled elevators, complimentary baby cribs on request, and barrier-free routes through the building. All guestrooms are non-smoking, with designated smoking areas elsewhere.

Paid parking is available in the adjoining Mark City West building rather than directly beneath the hotel. Shops, restaurants, and convenience services within Mark City are also close to the guest-room elevators.

Dining

A bientôt and the Japanese restaurant Shunsai are on the 25th floor, about 100 meters above the city. Both pair their menus with expansive skyline views, while Estacion Cafe on the fifth floor has an eight-meter-high ceiling and looks toward Shibuya Crossing.

Breakfast is served in the high-floor restaurants, and the three venues also offer lunch, dinner, or cafe service. Although the in-house selection is focused, Mark City and central Shibuya provide many more choices nearby.

Location and transport

The hotel is above the west side of Shibuya Station. The JR central gate is about three minutes away, and the Keio Inokashira Line is about two minutes away. Tokyu and Tokyo Metro platforms are accessible through nearby exits and station passages.

Shibuya's extensive rail and subway network provides straightforward connections to Shinjuku, Harajuku, Omotesando, and other parts of Tokyo. The indoor route through Mark City is especially convenient in wet weather or when returning with shopping bags.

Airport access

Direct airport buses serve the hotel and Mark City. Published journey times are about 60 minutes from Haneda Airport and 90 minutes from Narita Airport, though road traffic can make either trip longer.

The Narita Express also connects Narita Airport with Shibuya Station in about 90 minutes. The hotel bus is generally easier with large luggage, while the train avoids road delays.

Why stay here

Shibuya Excel Hotel Tokyu is a strong choice for travelers who prioritize easy station access in central Shibuya. It works particularly well for sightseeing across multiple train lines, arriving by airport bus, booking three or four beds, or securing a room with a specific view of the crossing.

Shibuya is one of Tokyo's leading districts for fashion, arts, shopping, cafes, and nightlife. The crossing and Dogenzaka are immediately outside Mark City, allowing guests to move easily between the area's busy streets and the hotel.

Good to know

Booking a general Twin room does not guarantee a view of Shibuya Crossing. Choose a room category explicitly sold with a crossing view; requests attached to other room types should be treated as preferences rather than confirmed assignments.

The direct limousine bus from the hotel to Narita Airport requires advance online reservation and payment. The front desk cannot make this reservation on a guest's behalf.
