Overview
Rising 150 metres above the Yokohama Arena side of Shin-Yokohama Station, Shin Yokohama Prince Hotel is two minutes away on foot. With 875 rooms, full-service dining, and 19 banquet halls, it is a much larger operation than most hotels around the station. Haneda Airport buses stop at the front entrance.
The combination helps with Shinkansen schedules, arena events, conferences, and airport transfers. The hotel isn't connected to the station, and standard rooms are compact, but upper-floor rooms and restaurants provide views and on-site choice that a simpler overnight stay doesn't.
Rooms
Room sizes start at 16.9 square metres in the standard single, double, and twin categories. Moderate rooms provide a little more floor space, while superior and deluxe options range from 33.8 to 42.8 square metres. The 62.2-square-metre suite is the largest choice, and selected twin rooms accommodate up to four guests.
Height and outlook vary by category. Upper-floor rooms may face Yokohama, Tokyo, or Mt. Fuji, so it's worth choosing a named sky-view or upper-floor category if the outlook matters more than simply staying in the tower.
Facilities
Nineteen banquet halls and meeting rooms give the hotel a substantial conference and event role. They range from small meeting spaces to the large Sinfonia hall, with wired and wireless internet available for functions.
For day-to-day needs, guests have a 24-hour laundromat and convenience store. A foreign-currency exchange machine and massage studio are also available.
Dining
Buffet Dining Kochel serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Higher in the tower, Japanese dining, teppanyaki, and the top-floor bar lounge make the skyline part of the experience.
That range comes in handy after a late arrival or an event, when you may not want to head out again. Conference guests and small groups also have several places to meet over a meal without leaving the building.
Location and transport
The two-minute walk to Shin-Yokohama Station is the main transport advantage. Tokaido Shinkansen trains run directly to Tokyo and west toward Kyoto and Osaka, while the Yokohama Municipal Subway Blue Line reaches Yokohama Station in about 11 minutes.
The JR Yokohama Line handles local trips across northern Yokohama. Tokyu and Sotetsu through services add routes toward central Tokyo and western Kanagawa, avoiding a transfer at Yokohama Station for some journeys.
Airport access
Direct limousine buses connect the hotel entrance with all three Haneda Airport terminals. Keikyu and Tokyu buses operate the service, and transport IC cards are accepted.
This is a hotel-door route, not a bus followed by a walk from the station. Road delays can still affect airport-bound trips, so leave a comfortable margin before your flight.
Why stay here
The short station walk and hotel-door airport bus take pressure off arrival and departure days. High-floor views, several dining choices, and substantial meeting space give the stay more range than a compact station-side hotel. Waterfront Yokohama remains a local train or subway ride away.
Yokohama Arena is the nearest major event venue. The wider Shin-Yokohama Station Area also includes the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum and Nissan Stadium, while Minato Mirai and Chinatown are farther south in central Yokohama.
Good to know
The tower is easy to spot, but it isn't inside the station complex. Follow signs for the Yokohama Arena side, and compare room categories carefully if floor space or a particular view matters.
