Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Just east of Kobe's main rail cluster, this Sotetsu Fresa Inn is a three-minute walk from the East Exit of Sannomiya Station. Downtown shopping and dining in Kobe-Sannomiya are close by, while Shin-Kobe Station is one subway stop away and Port Liner trains run directly to Kobe Airport.

The hotel has 271 compact, non-smoking rooms and accepts only cashless payment for accommodation charges. Facilities are simpler than at a full-service hotel. The location is the main advantage.

Rooms

Most single and double rooms measure 11.8 to 12.9 square meters, so floor space is limited. Twin rooms leave more room for luggage, while a connecting setup joins a twin and superior single through an internal door for groups of up to three.

An accessible universal twin is also available. Simmons beds are used throughout.

Facilities

Self-service kiosks handle routine check-in and checkout. The front desk can store luggage before check-in and after checkout, while five washer-dryers help with longer stays. You can check their availability on the room television, and a shared microwave is available for simple meals.

Dining

The first-floor Sachi Fukuya Cafe serves a paid Japanese breakfast buffet from 6:30 to 10:00, with final entry at 9:30. The current price is 1,600 yen. For other meals, central Sannomiya has far more choice than the hotel itself.

Location and transport

The hotel is on the east side of Kobe's downtown rail cluster. JR's East Exit is three minutes away on foot, while the east-side Hankyu and Hanshin exits are each about four minutes away. Together, these railways provide several routes toward Osaka and western Hyogo.

Sannomiya isn't a single station building. JR, Hankyu, Hanshin, the subway, and the Port Liner have separate gates, so check both the operator and exit before arriving. The subway provides the quickest connection to Shin-Kobe's Shinkansen platforms, one stop north.

Airport access

The Port Liner runs directly between Sannomiya and Kobe Airport in about 18 minutes. It isn't a hotel-door service, so you'll need to continue on foot from the Port Liner station. Allow a little extra time if you're unfamiliar with Sannomiya's separate stations.

Why stay here

The three-minute walk from JR simplifies Kobe sightseeing, Osaka day trips, airport arrivals, and Shinkansen transfers through Shin-Kobe. Compact rooms are the tradeoff, though the twins and connecting setup give small groups more workable options.

Kobe Sannomiya Center Gai runs west through the downtown shopping district, and Ikuta Shrine is nearby. Continue toward Motomachi for Chinatown and the Former Foreign Settlement. The mix keeps central Kobe sightseeing and evening dining within reach without giving up straightforward transport.

Good to know

The hotel is close to JR, Hankyu, and Hanshin services but isn't connected to any station. Accommodation charges are cashless, and there is no on-site parking.
