Overview
Sannomiya's west-side restaurant streets and Ikuta Shrine are close to The Royal Park Canvas Kobe Sannomiya. The nearest municipal subway exit is about two minutes away, though the district's other Sannomiya rail services take longer to reach. You're in the heart of Kobe-Sannomiya, but not every platform is equally close.
The lounge gives the hotel much of its character. Breakfast, coffee, work tables, evening drinks, and small events share one bright ground-floor space, providing somewhere comfortable to spend time beyond the guest room.
Rooms
All 170 rooms are non-smoking. Comfort Doubles measure 18.6 to 21.1 square meters and have a wide bed, desk, and shower booth. Accommodating one or two guests, they're designed for city stays spent mostly beyond the room.
Twin categories add bathtubs with separate washing areas. Standard Twins start at 21.6 square meters, Superior Twins provide more storage at 25.7 square meters, and Deluxe Twins extend to 29.9 square meters with a sofa bed for a third guest. The 40.6-square-meter top-floor suite accommodates up to four and looks toward Kobe's sea and mountains.
Facilities
The CANVAS Lounge is open from 6:30 in the morning until midnight. Guests receive tea and coffee between check-in and check-out, while complimentary ice cream is served in the evening. Power outlets at the tables are handy for work or planning between outings.
A small second-floor gym is open around the clock, though guests need to bring their own exercise clothes and shoes. Coin laundry is on the same floor, and ironing spaces are available on the guest floors.
Dining
A guest-only breakfast buffet is served in the lounge from 6:30 to 10:00. Kobe touches include alternating servings of bokkake or a Tajima beef croquette, bread from local bakery Comme Chinois, and Tokuren fruit jelly served semi-frozen.
From late morning, the lounge becomes a cafe and bar. Kobe tea, craft beer, Nada sake, and light food remain available into the evening. It's an easy place to stop for a drink without committing to a full restaurant meal.
Location and transport
West Exit 1 of the Kobe Municipal Subway at Sannomiya Station is about two minutes away on foot. Hankyu Kobe-Sannomiya is about five minutes away, while JR Sannomiya is about six. The Hanshin and Port Liner platforms require slightly longer walks.
The subway reaches Shin-Kobe Station in one stop for the Sanyo Shinkansen. JR and the private railways cover trips toward Osaka and western Hyogo, while the Port Liner runs to Kobe Airport. These operators have separate gates, so the line named in your arrival directions matters.
Airport access
Port Liner trains travel directly from Kobe Airport to Sannomiya in about 18 minutes. From the Port Liner station, the published walk to the hotel is about nine minutes. There is no hotel shuttle.
Limousine buses from Kansai International Airport and Osaka Itami Airport reach Sannomiya stops in about 65 and 40 minutes respectively. Neither service stops at the hotel entrance, leaving a final walk or taxi ride through the district.
Why stay here
The two-minute subway walk keeps Shin-Kobe transfers simple, while the wider Sannomiya rail cluster supports Osaka trips and travel to Kobe Airport. Back at the hotel, the lounge provides space for breakfast, coffee, work, or a late drink. Arrivals by JR, Hankyu, Hanshin, or Port Liner involve a longer outdoor walk.
Sannomiya and Motomachi form Kobe's central district for shopping, dining, and sightseeing. Ikuta Shrine is nearby, while a walk west brings Motomachi, Chinatown, and the Former Foreign Settlement into the same city-center itinerary.
Good to know
Comfort Double rooms have shower booths but no bathtubs. The main twin categories have bathtubs with separate washing areas, so room choice affects more than the bed arrangement.
The hotel isn't directly connected to any station. Check the operator as well as the Sannomiya name before arrival, especially if you're carrying luggage.
