Overview

Set in Gotenyama, Tokyo Marriott Hotel is roughly ten minutes on foot or five minutes by complimentary shuttle from Shinagawa Station. It puts Shinkansen and airport trains within reach while offering a quieter garden setting away from the station's busiest entrances.

Its 249 rooms are generally larger than the Tokyo norm, and downtime can be spent in the garden, restaurant, executive lounge, or fitness room. This isn't a station-door stay, so guests need to plan around the shuttle or walk.

Rooms

Rooms start with 30-square-meter Superior Kings, while the main Deluxe King and Twin categories measure 38 square meters. Garden and Junior Suites are about 70 square meters, followed by the 82-square-meter Gotenyama Suite and 108-square-meter Presidential Suite.

Executive rooms occupy floors 21 to 25 and include access to the 26th-floor lounge for breakfast, daytime refreshments, and evening cocktails. Most published room categories accommodate two guests, so families should confirm the precise occupancy and bedding before booking.

Facilities

The first-floor fitness room is available to staying guests, and a roughly one-kilometer jogging route runs through the grounds. Other facilities and services include meeting and banquet rooms, a chapel, paid parking, concierge assistance, and free Wi-Fi in guest rooms and the lobby.

Gotenyama Garden is the standout shared feature. Its greenery and paths offer a calmer outlook than the office towers and rail infrastructure around central Shinagawa.

Dining

Lounge & Dining G is the main restaurant, serving breakfast and international dishes in the lobby atrium. GGCo. provides pastries, bread, coffee, and lighter takeaway items, while in-room dining is also available.

The selection is more concentrated than at larger Tokyo luxury hotels with several specialist restaurants. More choices are available around Shinagawa Station, though reaching them requires the shuttle or a walk.

Location and transport

The complimentary shuttle takes about five minutes between Shinagawa Station and the hotel. Walking from the Takanawa side takes about ten minutes. Since the hotel isn't directly connected to the station, check the current shuttle timetable before relying on it for a particular train.

Shinagawa Station serves the Tokaido-Sanyo Shinkansen toward Nagoya, Kyoto, and Shin-Osaka, along with JR and Keikyu lines. These connections suit westbound rail trips, Haneda-linked stays, business travel, and day trips toward Yokohama or Kamakura.

Airport access

Keikyu trains run directly between Haneda Airport and Shinagawa Station. From the station, continue by complimentary hotel shuttle, taxi, or on foot.

Narita Express trains also serve Shinagawa directly, while airport limousine bus journeys take about 100 minutes. Check current rail, bus, and hotel shuttle schedules before choosing a route, particularly when the shuttle isn't operating.

Why stay here

Tokyo Marriott Hotel suits travelers who want larger rooms, a recognized full-service brand, and Shinagawa's Shinkansen and airport connections without staying amid the station crowds. It is particularly suited to business trips, westbound rail itineraries, and guests who appreciate a quieter return at the end of the day.

Gotenyama has a distinct history as a cherry-blossom viewing area dating to the Edo period. The hotel garden maintains that green setting near the former Tokaido post-town streets of Shinagawa.

Good to know

The hotel isn't beside Shinagawa Station. Its complimentary shuttle is the easiest connection with luggage, but check the timetable before an early departure or late arrival.

In-house dining centers on one all-day restaurant, a pastry and coffee counter, and room service. Travelers who prefer several specialist restaurants within their hotel may find the choice limited.
