Transport access and hotel guide

Overview

Twin Leaves Hotel Izumo faces the north forecourt in Izumoshi Station Area, with JR services, Ichibata trains, and airport buses close to the entrance. You can leave luggage at the hotel before check-in, then set out for Izumo Taisha without first arranging a taxi from the station.

The shrine is a separate journey. You can reach the hotel quickly after arriving by train or bus, but you won't be within walking distance of the shrine grounds.

Rooms

Comfort Singles measure 17 square metres and have a 140-centimetre-wide bed, with plans for one or two guests. Compact Twins fit two side-by-side beds into the same floor area. Queen Doubles measure 19 square metres and have a 160-centimetre-wide bed.

Standard Twins provide 27 square metres, while Deluxe Twins range from 32 to 35 square metres. Both categories can accommodate a third guest with an extra bed. If you're traveling with more luggage or as a group of three, they're worth comparing with the Compact Twin.

The 35-square-metre Universal Twin accommodates two guests and has a wheelchair-accessible bathroom. Contact the hotel about the layout if you have specific access needs.

Facilities

Free luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out. There's also a shared microwave and a lobby amenity bar where guests can collect toiletries as needed.

There is no communal bath, but guest-room bathrooms have bathtubs. Paid parking is available on a first-come basis, and a rental-car desk in the glass-roofed atrium is convenient for journeys beyond the city.

Dining

The breakfast buffet runs from 6:30am to 9:30am and costs 2,000 yen unless it's included in your plan. Japanese and Western dishes are served alongside regional specialties such as Izumo soba and Lake Shinji clam soup.

The hotel's restaurant opens only for breakfast. For other meals, there's a soba restaurant in the atrium, along with additional places to eat around the station.

Location and transport

Izumoshi Station is about one minute away via the North Exit. Yakumo limited express trains connect the station with Matsue and Okayama Station, where passengers can transfer to the Shinkansen.

Dentetsu Izumoshi Station is beside the hotel and serves the Ichibata railway. Most train journeys to Izumo Taisha require a change at Kawato for Izumotaisha-mae, followed by a walk to the shrine. Buses from the JR station provide another option.

Airport access

Direct buses from Izumo Airport stop in front of the hotel at the JR North Exit. The journey takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic. For the return trip, check the airport-bound timetable before choosing your departure.

Why stay here

With the station so close, you can reach the hotel on foot with luggage or leave without a taxi for an early JR departure. The larger twin categories also give two or three guests more space than the entry-level rooms.

For sightseeing, allow time for Izumo Taisha and Shinmon-dori, where shops and soba restaurants extend the visit beyond the shrine grounds. Nearby Inasa Beach can add a coastal walk before you return to the station area.

Good to know

Check-in begins at 3pm and check-out is by 10am unless your plan specifies otherwise. The hotel is scheduled to remove its smoking rooms and become fully non-smoking from December 3, 2026. For earlier stays, select your smoking preference when booking.
