Overview
Vessel Inn Asakusa Tsukuba Express is on the Senzoku side of Tokyo-Asakusa, six minutes on foot from Exit A2 on the Tsukuba Express side of Asakusa Station. This western part of the district is close to Hanayashiki amusement park, with Sensoji and Kappabashi Kitchenware Town also within walking distance.
The hotel focuses on renovated rooms and detailed family services. Dining is limited to breakfast, and there are no leisure facilities such as a public bath or gym.
Rooms
All guest rooms were renovated by March 31, 2026, when the first-floor coworking area was refreshed as well. Every room is non-smoking, and guests remove their shoes at the entrance.
Standard rooms are compact. The Comfort Single measures 11.4 to 13.5 square meters, while the Comfort Twin is 13.5 square meters. For more floor space, the Superior Room measures 27 square meters and the Deluxe Room 39.2 square meters. Both have separate bathrooms and toilets, accommodating three and four adults respectively when extra beds are added. The 27-square-meter Accessible Room sleeps up to three adults but has a combined bathroom.
Facilities
The first-floor lounge changes roles throughout the day, serving as the breakfast room in the morning, a coworking area later on, and the setting for complimentary welcome drinks. A guest kitchen has a microwave and an electric cooking appliance for preparing simple meals.
The 24-hour laundry room has free washing machines, while the dryers cost extra. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel, and guests can also use an ice machine and printer.
The hotel lends cribs, strollers, and bottle-sterilizing equipment; diapers and wipes are also available. There is no public bath, pool, gym, or full-service restaurant.
Dining
Breakfast is served from 6:00 to 9:30, leaving time to eat before an early sightseeing start. The buffet draws on Tokyo's old downtown food culture, with current examples such as tuna rice bowls, a rotating choice of Fukagawa clam rice or barley rice with grated yam, chanko-style udon, and Asakusa sweets. Dishes may change from day to day.
There is no lunch or dinner service. Asakusa has many places to eat, however, and the guest kitchen provides an option for simple food preparation.
Location and transport
Exit A2 at Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station is the simplest arrival point, about six minutes away on foot. Trains reach Akihabara directly in about four minutes, where passengers can transfer to JR and Tokyo Metro services.
Hanayashiki is about seven minutes from the hotel, while Kaminarimon is about 14 minutes away. Sensoji, the Rokku entertainment district, and Kappabashi's cookware shops can all be explored on foot.
Asakusa has several stations with the same name, but they don't form one connected rail complex. Tokyo Metro Asakusa Station is about 14 minutes away on foot. The Toei and Tobu stations are also farther east near Kaminarimon and the Sumida River, so they require a longer approach than the Tsukuba Express station.
Airport access
The hotel's suggested airport routes use the nearer Tsukuba Express station but require transfers. From Haneda Airport, take the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho, JR to Akihabara, and then the Tsukuba Express to Asakusa. From Narita Airport, take the Keisei Skyliner to Keisei-Ueno, walk to Ueno Station, ride the Hibiya Line to Minami-Senju, and change to the Tsukuba Express for Asakusa. Both journeys end with the six-minute walk from Exit A2.
Some Toei Asakusa Line trains run through to Haneda or Narita, but the Toei station belongs to the farther riverside cluster rather than the station nearest the hotel. Check the operator as well as the station name when planning an airport journey.
Why stay here
Guests aged 18 and younger can stay without an accommodation charge when sharing an existing bed with a parent or grandparent. This policy doesn't include an extra bed, and children who need separate beds must be booked as adults. Breakfast for bed-sharing children aged six and older is charged separately unless it's included in the selected plan.
Families using the bed-sharing policy can reduce their room cost, while the larger room categories give them more floor space for longer visits. Sensoji, Hanayashiki, and Kappabashi are close by, and Akihabara is one short train ride away.
Good to know
Families and groups should compare floor area as well as occupancy: the standard rooms are compact, while the Superior and Deluxe categories provide much more space. Hotel parking is extremely limited and available by reservation only. For rail arrivals, specifying "Tsukuba Express Asakusa Station, Exit A2" helps avoid confusion with Asakusa's other stations.
