Overview
Opening October 28, 2026, Citadines North Shinjuku Tokyo is in Hyakunincho, between Okubo's restaurant streets and the larger Shinjuku district. Okubo Station is about three minutes away, Shin-Okubo Station about seven minutes, and the main Shinjuku Station complex about 18 minutes on foot.
The 22-story building combines 106 hotel rooms with 73 serviced residence units. Studios cover shorter visits, while apartment-style layouts provide extra space and flexibility for families, groups, relocating guests, and people on project stays.
Rooms
Hotel room categories begin with 25-square-meter studios and extend to twin studios, one-bedroom units, family rooms, and two-bedroom accommodation. Published maximum occupancy ranges from three people in the studio categories to six in selected family rooms.
The layouts change substantially beyond the studios. One-bedroom options measure 55 to 66 square meters, family rooms are 54 or 55 square meters, and the published two-bedroom hotel category measures 59 square meters. Some categories include a full kitchen and washer-dryer, so check the exact room rather than assuming every booking has the same equipment.
A separate serviced residence collection is planned for longer stays. Its studios and one- or two-bedroom units range from 48 to 152 square meters and accommodate groups of two to six, but reservations are due to be released separately.
Facilities
A gym and guest lounge provide space beyond the room, while reception and security operate around the clock. Laundry equipment supports longer visits, and vending machines, currency exchange, and a water server cover smaller daily needs.
These aren't resort facilities. Their value becomes clearer over several days: laundry and kitchen-equipped categories simplify daily routines, while the gym and lounge offer places to exercise or unwind outside the apartment.
Dining
A cafe is among the announced opening facilities, although detailed menus and operating hours haven't been published. Anyone looking for a full restaurant program should wait for further information before treating in-house dining as a deciding factor.
The surrounding neighborhood provides plenty of alternatives. Korea Town and Islam Yokocho bring a broad choice of casual food within walking distance, with more international restaurants along the streets between the two stations. Dinner doesn't require a trip into central Shinjuku.
Location and transport
The hotel is on the western side of Tokyo-Okubo / Shin-Okubo. The closest stop, Okubo, serves local JR Chuo-Sobu Line trains. Shinjuku is one stop away, with direct services also running toward Ochanomizu, Akihabara, and Mitaka.
Shin-Okubo serves the JR Yamanote Line, with direct trains toward Shibuya, Ikebukuro, and Ueno. The two nearby stations are separate and don't share a concourse, so check which line fits your journey before leaving. Shinjuku Station is walkable, but it isn't the easiest everyday approach with luggage.
Airport access
Airport journeys require a transfer. Current directions estimate about 45 minutes from Haneda Airport by train or airport limousine bus via Shinjuku. From Narita Airport, the estimated journey is about 75 to 90 minutes using the Narita Express and conventional JR trains. Neither route ends at the hotel entrance.
Limousine-bus passengers complete the final leg from the wider Shinjuku area. Rail travelers can continue one stop to Okubo or take a taxi, depending on luggage and arrival time. Check current airport timetables before traveling, since the best connection can vary by arrival point and time of day.
Why stay here
Larger room categories, kitchen-equipped options, laundry support, and two nearby JR lines take some friction out of longer stays for families and groups. Repeat visitors also get a neighborhood with a distinct dining scene rather than another stay immediately beside Shinjuku Station.
The neighborhood is central to the appeal. Shin-Okubo is known for Korea Town, K-pop shopping, and Korean street food, while Islam Yokocho and nearby restaurants reflect a broader mix of communities. You can spend an evening exploring the area without taking a train.
