Overview
Comfort Hotel Takamatsu is for travelers who want the inland shopping and dining side of central Takamatsu rather than the waterfront around JR trains and ferries. It is in Takamatsu-Kawaramachi, about eight minutes on foot from Kawaramachi Station and very close to the Nakajincho airport limousine bus stop.
This location favors days split between the city center, Kotoden rail trips, and nearby sights such as Ritsurin Garden. Takamatsu Station is still the better anchor for JR arrivals, ferry departures, Sunport, and port-side luggage plans, so this is more of a Kawaramachi stay than a waterfront one.
Rooms
Room categories are straightforward, but the size differences are worth noting. Double rooms are 15 square meters, standard twins are 22 to 23 square meters, family rooms have three beds in 23 square meters, and universal rooms are 29 square meters. All rooms are non-smoking.
Twins and family rooms are worth comparing if you are traveling with another adult, a child, or more than one suitcase. The doubles are better suited to solo stays, short business trips, or guests who expect to spend most of the day out. In-room Wi-Fi, Serta beds, and televisions with breakfast and laundry status information keep the setup efficient without trying to make the rooms feel like long-stay apartments.
Facilities
Comfort Library Cafe is the main shared space. It is free to use, open from 10:00 AM to midnight, and set up for coffee, tea, local reading material, light work, or a pause between outings.
Other facilities cover the essentials for a busy itinerary: free luggage storage before check-in and after check-out, 24-hour coin laundry, self check-in and check-out machines, vending and ice machines, and a 24-hour front desk. Parking is available but limited and offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so drivers should plan ahead.
Dining
Breakfast is included and served buffet style in the 2F Comfort Library Cafe from 6:30 AM to 9:30 AM. The buffet is geared toward a quick, balanced start, with breads, soup, salad, smoothies, daily hot dishes, cereal, yogurt, and local items.
For lunch and dinner, plan around the surrounding arcades and Kawaramachi streets rather than the hotel itself. That arrangement suits guests who prefer to eat out locally, but travelers who want a full in-house restaurant may want to compare other properties.
Location and transport
Kawaramachi Station is the nearest rail reference and the Kotoden transfer point for the Kotohira, Nagao, and Shido lines. From here, Kotoden handles trips toward Ritsurin Garden, Kotohira, and other local parts of Takamatsu, while the central shopping streets are close on foot.
This is not the easiest choice if your priority is rolling luggage directly to JR platforms or ferry piers. For Setouchi island departures, Sunport, or JR travel toward Okayama, compare the Takamatsu Station Area before deciding.
Airport access
Airport access is one of the clearest advantages. The Nakajincho stop for the Takamatsu Airport limousine bus is about a minute from the hotel, and the ride from Takamatsu Airport to Nakajincho takes about 27 minutes.
It is still a public airport bus rather than a hotel-door shuttle, so check the timetable and stop direction before depending on it for an early flight.
Why stay here
Stay here if you want an uncomplicated Comfort Hotel stay with breakfast included, a cafe space open late, laundry facilities, and a central location that favors Kawaramachi over the port. It suits flight arrivals, Kotoden day trips, evenings in the shopping arcades, and travelers who would rather start sightseeing near Ritsurin Garden than sleep beside the JR station.
The neighborhood is stronger than the hotel category alone might suggest. Takamatsu's city center brings shopping and food together with historical, cultural, and art stops, while Ritsurin Garden and Tamamo Park add nearby sightseeing weight. If your itinerary includes ferries to the islands, keep the waterfront in the plan; this hotel keeps you closer to the inland side of the city.
Good to know
Kawaramachi is not a JR station, and Comfort Hotel Takamatsu is not directly connected to a rail station. Early ferry departures, heavy luggage, or a tight JR connection may be easier from the waterfront. Drivers should also note that hotel parking is limited and first come, first served.
