Overview
Courtyard by Marriott Fukui occupies the upper floors of FUKUMACHI BLOCK, two minutes on foot from Fukui Station's West Exit. Hokuriku Shinkansen services, regional trains, trams, and the city's main bus stops are all close to the entrance.
The hotel has 252 rooms, including 12 suites, as well as three main dining venues, a 24-hour fitness center, and substantial meeting space. Guest rooms begin on the seventeenth floor and look across the city or surrounding mountains.

Rooms occupy floors seventeen through twenty-eight, and every category measures at least 25 square metres. Most king and twin rooms are 25 square metres, corner rooms measure 38 square metres, and one-bedroom suites offer 49 square metres.
Views vary by category, with rooms facing either the city or the mountains. Connecting rooms are available, and twin rooms can accommodate up to two children sharing existing beds. Confirm the exact layout when a connection, view, or extra bed matters.
Facilities
The fitness center is open around the clock and free for overnight guests. Its cardio machines, resistance equipment, and free weights cover a standard workout, though this isn't a full leisure club.
A business center, meeting rooms, and ballrooms support work and events. The hotel is smoke-free, the front desk operates 24 hours, and room service is available.
Dining
Substance, on the fifteenth floor, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner from an open kitchen. Its breakfast buffet runs from 6:30 to 10:30, combining standard hot dishes with regional items such as Eiheiji sesame tofu and fried tofu. Breakfast isn't included in every rate.
FUKUI focuses on seasonal Japanese cooking with local ingredients. The Lounge & Bar, on the sixteenth-floor lobby level, serves afternoon tea, light food, and drinks. Opening days and meal periods vary, so check the current schedule before planning around a particular venue.
Location and transport
The hotel is on the West Exit side of the Fukui Station Area. Direct Hokuriku Shinkansen trains connect Fukui with Kanazawa and Tokyo. Journeys from Osaka, Kyoto, and Nagoya normally require a change at Tsuruga between a limited express and the Shinkansen.
Local trains and buses cover trips beyond central Fukui. Direct buses for Eiheiji leave from the East Exit, while the usual journey to the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum combines the Echizen Railway to Katsuyama with a local bus.
Airport access
Direct buses take about an hour between Komatsu Airport and Fukui Station's East Exit. From there, cross the station to reach the hotel on the West Exit side. Services are timed around selected flights rather than every arrival.
There is no hotel airport shuttle. Bus seats are first come, first served, and road delays are possible, so check the timetable carefully before matching the service to a flight.
Why stay here
The hotel is useful for trips that combine Shinkansen travel with regional day trips. Fukui Station provides the rail and bus connections without requiring a separate transfer through the city.
Dinosaur Plaza is immediately outside the West Exit. Fukui Castle's stone walls and moat are about five minutes from the station, while Yokokan Garden is about ten minutes away. Together, they provide a compact half-day route around central Fukui.
Good to know
Check-in begins at 15:00, and checkout is by 12:00. The hotel doesn't have dedicated parking; the adjacent third-party FUKUMACHI BLOCK car park is available on a first-come basis and costs extra.
Komatsu Airport buses stop on the opposite side of the station rather than at the hotel entrance. Breakfast costs extra unless it's included in the selected rate, and restaurant closing days can change.
