Overview
Henn na Hotel Premier Kyoto Station Hachijo Exit is a two-minute walk from Kyoto Station's Hachijo East Exit, close to the side of the rail complex used by Shinkansen travelers and airport buses. That short walk matters when you're carrying luggage. JR, subway, and Kintetsu services are also nearby, supporting day trips as well as first and last nights in Kyoto.
Two dinosaur receptionists handle check-in, while an express option speeds up arrival for guests who register and pay in advance. Six automated baggage ports and 50 lockers can hold bags before check-in or after checkout.

The hotel has 98 rooms. Singles measure 11.64 to 12.52 square meters and have a unit bath, while most twin and double rooms are around 19 to 22 square meters. The 24.18-square-meter triple has three separate beds.
Every category except the single separates the bath and toilet, a helpful layout when two or three guests share. Phiten rooms add body-care materials and foot-massage equipment for unwinding after a day out.
Facilities
The baggage ports and lockers are particularly helpful on arrival and departure days. Coin laundry supports longer stays, and a manga corner with about 700 titles offers an easy indoor break.
Dining
THE STONES on the first floor serves a Japanese and Western breakfast buffet from 7:00 to 10:00. From 3:00 p.m., it becomes an Irish pub, providing an in-house option for a drink after sightseeing.
Location and transport
Kyoto Station's Hachijo side faces away from Kyoto Tower and is the more convenient side for the Shinkansen and Kintetsu gates. Airport and overnight buses stop nearby, while the wider station complex provides JR and subway connections, shopping, and dining.
The surrounding Kyoto Station Area is modern and transport-focused. To-ji is about a 15-minute walk from the hotel, but reaching Kyoto's historic east-side districts requires a bus, taxi, or train ride.
Airport access
The Haruka limited express runs directly from Kansai International Airport to Kyoto Station, followed by a short walk across the Hachijo side. Buses from Kansai and Itami airports stop about two minutes away, so airport transfers don't depend on a hotel-door shuttle.
Why stay here
The two-minute station walk and on-site baggage storage simplify early Shinkansen departures, airport transfers, and luggage-heavy arrival days. The tradeoff is the setting: streets around the hotel feel modern and transport-focused, while Gion and Higashiyama offer a more historic atmosphere elsewhere in Kyoto.
Sightseeing can still begin nearby. To-ji is within walking distance, while Kyoto Tower and Higashi Hongan-ji are on the north side of the rail complex.
Good to know
The hotel is close to Kyoto Station but isn't connected to the station building. Head for the Hachijo East Exit, especially if you arrive through the Central Exit. All rooms are non-smoking.
On-site parking is limited to one paid, first-come, first-served space. Kyoto Avanti provides a nearby paid alternative.
