Overview
About five minutes from Hotel Cordia Osaka Hommachi, Hommachi Station brings together three Osaka Metro lines. From Exit 4, the Midosuji Line runs north without a change to Umeda and Shin-Osaka. Southbound trains continue through Shinsaibashi and Namba to Tennoji. The hotel is in Osaka-Hommachi, a business district that feels calmer at night than Umeda or Namba.
The 101 rooms aren't stamped from one template. Japanese artwork appears throughout, while lighting and interior design vary by room. Layouts range from efficient doubles to a suite-like option for a family or small group.
Rooms
Smart rooms are the smallest at 17 square metres. The 20-square-metre Select, Basic, and Universal categories also sleep up to two, with Basic rooms available as doubles or twins. These compact categories have shower booths but no bathtubs.
More space begins with the 30-square-metre Comfort rooms, which can sleep three. Grande rooms add a sofa bed within 37 square metres, while the 40-square-metre Premier separates the sleeping area from a living room. With two wide beds, a sofa bed, and an extra bed, the Premier accommodates up to six. Comfort, Grande, and Premier rooms include bathtubs.
Facilities
A complimentary soda bar in the first-floor lobby serves sparkling water and fruit-vinegar drinks. Coin laundry machines, a microwave, vending machines, and an ice machine are grouped on the sixth floor, keeping self-service stays straightforward. Rooms also have coffee machines, steam irons, air purifiers, and free Wi-Fi.
All guest rooms are non-smoking. A designated smoking room is available on the sixth floor.
Dining
Café itutu serves breakfast from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM, with last orders at 10:30 AM. Guests choose a main dish, then help themselves to drinks, yogurt, and seasonal fruit. Lunch and café service runs from 11:30 AM to 6:00 PM, with last orders at 5:00 PM. The café normally closes on Mondays unless Monday is a public holiday.
Location and transport
Hommachi is where three Osaka Metro lines meet. The Midosuji Line provides the main north-south route through central Osaka, while the Chuo Line runs east toward the Osaka Castle side and west toward Osaka Bay. The Yotsubashi Line offers another route through western central Osaka.
Hommachi is a subway interchange, not a JR or Shinkansen station, and its exits cover several blocks. Using Exit 4 avoids an unnecessary walk.
Utsubo Park lies west of the station, with a rose garden, tree-lined paths, and cafés along its northern edge. East of Midosuji, the covered Semba shopping streets lead toward Shinsaibashi through a mix of textile shops and basement restaurants.
Airport access
There isn't a direct train or bus from either Osaka airport to the hotel door. From Kansai International Airport, routes connect through Namba, Tennoji, or Umeda before joining the Midosuji Line to Hommachi. From Osaka International Airport at Itami, travel via Senri-Chuo by monorail and subway, or take an airport bus to Umeda and continue by subway. Every option finishes with the walk from Exit 4.
Why stay here
Broad subway coverage comes with quieter evenings. Shin-Osaka, Umeda, Shinsaibashi, and Namba are all on one direct line, yet the immediate streets are removed from Osaka's largest entertainment districts. The larger rooms also allow groups of three to six to stay together instead of splitting across several small rooms.
The neighborhood adds useful contrast. Utsubo Park offers an easy break from sightseeing, while Semba's arcades provide rainy-day access to casual food and shopping. Travelers who want nightlife outside the door should look elsewhere, but the location works well for itineraries built around Osaka's subway network.
Good to know
Most room categories have showers only. If a bathtub matters, choose a Comfort, Grande, or Premier room and confirm the bedding setup for your group. The hotel has no dedicated parking. After midnight, guests use their room key to re-enter through the locked entrance.
