Overview
About three minutes on foot from Aomori Station, HOTEL MYSTAYS Aomori Station is close to the airport bus, Shinmachi-dori, and the bayfront. Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse and A-FACTORY are both within half a kilometre. Even a short stay can leave time for a waterfront walk.
Shinkansen services use Shin-Aomori Station, not the downtown station. A local train between the two takes about six minutes, adding a connection to bullet-train journeys. Once you're in the Aomori Station Area, central dining and waterfront sights are easy to reach on foot.
Rooms
Rooms start with a 14-square-metre semi-double. The 21-square-metre Standard Twin can accommodate a third guest with an extra bed, while the 29-square-metre Standard Triple has three fixed beds. Double and queen rooms measure 15 and 17 square metres, respectively.
Most Standard rooms separate the bath and toilet and provide a washing area beside the tub. The 21-square-metre Comfort Twin instead has a unit bath, so compare the bathroom layout when choosing between the two twin categories. Several room categories come in both smoking and non-smoking versions.
Facilities
The fourth floor has two washers and two dryers. Laundry is available around the clock. Nebuta artwork in the third-floor lobby brings imagery from Aomori's best-known festival into the hotel.
Dining
Breakfast is a Japanese-Western buffet. The first floor also has Doutor Coffee for coffee and light food, plus Ootoya for Japanese set meals. They give guests quick options before an early departure or after a day out.
Location and transport
Aomori Station serves conventional JR trains and the Aoimori Railway, including services toward Hirosaki and Asamushi Onsen. Day trips to either destination can therefore begin at the nearby station.
The bus from Aomori Airport takes about 35 minutes to Aomori Station Front, followed by a three-minute walk to the hotel. It isn't a hotel-door service, but you won't need an onward train or taxi.
Why stay here
The hotel suits an arrival night, a final night before the airport bus, or a short visit to central Aomori. Transport, casual food, and the waterfront are all nearby. The smallest rooms are compact, so groups should compare the twin and triple layouts rather than automatically choosing the least expensive category.
Wa Rasse displays full-size Nebuta floats and explores the festival's history throughout the year. A-FACTORY sells regional food and drink and produces cider from Aomori apples. Both can fit comfortably into spare time around check-in or departure.
Good to know
Luggage space on the airport bus is limited. Travelers carrying skis, snowboards, or a folding bicycle should check the operator's guidance in advance, as they may be directed to a later departure if the compartment is full. The hotel also publishes separate reservation and parking information for Aomori Nebuta Festival dates.
