Overview
Aomori Station is the city-center rail station for Aomori and the main anchor for the Aomori Station Area. It is useful for travelers staying near the waterfront, visiting Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse, using airport buses, or continuing by local rail toward Shin-Aomori, Hirosaki, Asamushi Onsen, and other regional stops.

Lines and connections
Aomori Station is served by Ou Line trains toward Hirosaki and Higashi-Noshiro, Tsugaru Line trains toward Kanita and Mimmaya, and Aoimori Railway trains toward Noheji and Hachinohe. These lines make Aomori Station the practical city-center rail point, but not the Shinkansen stop.
For Shinkansen travel, use Shin-Aomori Station and transfer between Shin-Aomori and Aomori Station by local train, bus, taxi, or car. The local rail trip from Shin-Aomori to Aomori is one stop and about five minutes.

Airport access
Aomori Airport buses serve Aomori Station in about 35 minutes. This makes the station area a practical base for travelers arriving by air before continuing to a city-center hotel or local rail route.
Station area
The station is close to the city tourist information center, Nebuta Museum Wa Rasse, A-FACTORY, ASPAM, waterfront paths, restaurants, and station-side hotels. ReLabo Medical Spa & Stay is connected to the station building, while other hotels cluster around the East Exit and nearby central streets.

Good to know
Do not confuse Aomori Station with Shin-Aomori Station. Aomori Station is better for the city center, waterfront, airport buses, and station hotels, while Shin-Aomori is the station to use for Tohoku and Hokkaido Shinkansen services.
