Overview
JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo is a luxury Marriott property in Takanawa Gateway City, a new south Tokyo district built around strong JR connections. The hotel is part of Linkpillar 1, a complex that brings together commercial, business, cultural, and transport functions close to Takanawa Gateway Station.
The hotel has 200 guestrooms, a spa, restaurants, and calm, Zen-influenced interiors. Many rooms look toward the city or Tokyo Bay. The location works especially well for travelers using the Yamanote or Keihin-Tohoku lines, guests with meetings in the surrounding development, or anyone who wants wellness facilities built into the stay rather than treated as an afterthought.
Rooms
Rooms and suites use natural materials, soft lighting, and floor-to-ceiling windows to create a quiet, understated atmosphere. Categories include deluxe rooms, JW Mindful Rooms, and suites, with selected options facing the skyline or Tokyo Bay. Published room names include Urban Deluxe, Bay View Deluxe, and Junior Suite, while higher tiers extend to executive and presidential layouts.
JW Mindful Rooms add yoga mats, meditation tools, and organic herbal teas. They also include private check-in and check-out at Spa by JW, which may appeal to guests who prefer a calmer arrival and departure experience. Executive-level rooms and suites include Executive Lounge privileges, with breakfast, light refreshments, and service; lounge access begins at 3:00 PM on the day of check-in.
Facilities
The main in-house facilities are Spa by JW, a fitness center, and an indoor swimming pool. Together, they make the hotel a strong fit for guests who want time for exercise, rest, or recovery during their trip.
The wider development also places event and cultural facilities close by. Its convention center has 15 rooms and a main hall of about 1,640 square meters, so guests attending conferences or corporate programs may find much of their schedule within the same district. For travel planning, the JR-EAST Travel Service Center in the complex can help with tourist information and ticketing.
Dining
The hotel offers Japanese and Mediterranean dining, giving guests options for business meals, slower dinners, or evenings when staying nearby is easier than crossing the city again. The surrounding district adds more places to eat and drink, including NEWoMan Takanawa and LUFTBAUM, a high-floor green space with shops, all-day dining, and bars.
That range makes the area convenient after a rail-heavy day in Tokyo: you can return to Takanawa Gateway, eat nearby, and avoid another evening transfer unless you want one.
Location and transport
The hotel is in the mixed-use development around Takanawa Gateway Station. JR Yamanote and Keihin-Tohoku services make several central areas easy to reach. By JR, Tokyo Station is about 8 minutes on the Keihin-Tohoku Line; Shibuya is about 14 minutes and Shinjuku about 21 minutes on the Yamanote inner loop.
Sengakuji Station is also important for route planning. It is about a 2-minute walk from the complex and is served by the Keikyu Line and Toei Asakusa Line. For some airport rail trips, or for travel along the Asakusa Line corridor, Sengakuji may be the better choice than JR at Takanawa Gateway.
Taxi users are directed to the Traffic Plaza on the 1st floor. Drivers can use paid parking in the Linkpillar 1 North and South areas; the listed general rate is 500 yen for 30 minutes, with a maximum of 2,500 yen for up to 24 hours. P1 North is listed for 24-hour operation, while P1 South operates from 6:30 AM to 11:00 PM.
Airport access
For Haneda, the main rail choices are Keikyu or Tokyo Monorail routes. From Haneda Airport Terminal 3, the Keikyu Line Airport Express reaches Sengakuji in about 15 minutes, followed by an approximately 2-minute walk to the complex.
From Haneda Airport Terminal 1/2 on the Keikyu Line, the trip to Takanawa Gateway Station takes about 17 minutes with a transfer at Shinagawa to the JR Yamanote or Keihin-Tohoku Line. Another option from Haneda Airport Terminal 1 uses the Tokyo Monorail to Hamamatsucho, then JR to Takanawa Gateway, for a total of about 25 minutes.
Narita Airport is served by an Airport Limousine bus route linking the airport with Takanawa Gateway Station and JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo. Boarding is at Traffic Plaza platform 2, which is helpful for travelers who prefer a direct bus stop in the district.
Why stay here
Choose JW Marriott Hotel Tokyo if you want a luxury stay in the Takanawa Gateway City development with strong JR connections nearby. It gives business and leisure travelers a refined place to return to while keeping multiple rail options within easy walking distance.
The strongest draws are the new-district location, the wellness facilities, and room categories that go well beyond a simple business-hotel format. It also makes sense for guests using Haneda rail routes, travelers planning around the Narita Airport limousine bus, or visitors attending events in the surrounding complex.
Good to know
Room sizes are approximate. Accessible rooms are not available at this hotel, so travelers who need step-free room features should treat that as an important limitation.
Some public spaces in the surrounding development are being introduced in phases. A deck between the residence and MoN Takanawa was still planned for a future opening as of March 2026, and pet areas in the wider complex are restricted.
