Overview

MIMARU Kyoto Kawaramachi Gojo is an apartment-style hotel near the Kamo River, about a three-minute walk from Kiyomizu-Gojo Station on the Keihan Line. It is a strong fit for families and groups who want more space than a typical compact city hotel, with river walks, southern Higashiyama, and downtown Kyoto-Kawaramachi all within easy reach.

A second rail option is Gojo Station on the Kyoto Municipal Subway Karasuma Line, about nine minutes away on foot. That route is helpful for Kyoto Station and the Karasuma corridor, while the closer Keihan stop is better for Gion, Fushimi Inari, Uji connections, and Keihan travel toward Osaka.

Rooms

The rooms are designed for shared stays. Public room categories range from 40-square-meter family apartment layouts to an 80-square-meter connecting family apartment, with Japanese-style, two-bedroom, loft-bed, accessible, and themed options also available.

Every room includes a kitchen and dining table, which makes the property especially convenient for longer visits, takeout meals, and travel with children. Depending on the layout, rooms may include bunk beds, multiple single beds, futons, or separate bedrooms, so it is worth choosing based on how much privacy and sleeping separation your group needs.

Facilities

Facilities support the apartment-hotel format rather than a resort-style stay. The most useful extras include a fitness room, kids room, baggage room, and coin laundry, all of which help make multi-night stays smoother.

The in-room setup adds much of the everyday convenience. Kitchens come with cooking and dining equipment, and the separated washstand and bath layout helps families and groups get ready without crowding into one small bathroom area. International staff and multilingual support tools also make the hotel easier to navigate for visitors in Kyoto.

Location and transport

Kiyomizu-Gojo Station is the closest rail access point. From there, Keihan trains are convenient for Gion-Shijo, Sanjo, Fushimi Inari, Uji connections, and Keihan routes toward Osaka.

Gojo Station adds Karasuma Line service for Kyoto Station, Shijo, and Karasuma Oike. The tradeoff is that the hotel is not directly beside the Shinkansen platforms. Arriving from Kyoto Station usually means taking the subway, a taxi, a bus, or making a longer walk, depending on luggage and weather.

Airport access

Airport access is by public transport rather than a direct hotel shuttle. MIMARU lists access from Kansai International Airport by train or limousine bus, and from Osaka International Airport by train or limousine bus, so plan the final local connection to Kawaramachi Gojo before you arrive.

For the simplest airport rail and Shinkansen transfers, staying next to Kyoto Station will still be easier. MIMARU Kyoto Kawaramachi Gojo is a better choice when apartment-style space, group comfort, and the Kamo River side of central Kyoto matter more than the shortest possible transfer.

Why stay here

Choose MIMARU Kyoto Kawaramachi Gojo when you want the room to work as a shared living space, not just somewhere to sleep. It is well suited to travelers who value apartment-style comfort near the Kamo River, with close Keihan access and a secondary subway route toward Kyoto Station.

Good to know

Kiyomizu-Gojo Station and Gojo Station are different stations on different rail networks. The closer stop is Kiyomizu-Gojo on the Keihan Line; Gojo on the Karasuma Line is farther away, but useful for Kyoto Station and subway-based travel.
