Overview
Fushimi is one subway stop from both Nagoya Station and Sakae. Nagoya Kanko Hotel is about two minutes from Nagoya Fushimi Station, favoring trips that span central Nagoya rather than stays focused solely on the city's main rail hub.
Opened in 1936, this traditional full-service hotel has several room tiers, extensive in-house dining, meeting and event spaces, and two levels of fitness and spa facilities. Longer stays and event visits can keep more of the day under one roof.
Rooms
Room choice matters here. Comfort rooms start with compact semi-double and double layouts, while twin and four-bed options give families and small groups more flexibility. Classic and Deluxe rooms add space, and selected categories have separate bathtubs and washing areas. Suites extend the range further.
ESPACIO is a hotel-within-a-hotel experience, not simply a collection of rooms on a higher floor. Its 54 rooms occupy floors 9 to 11 and include kitchens and washer-dryers. Guests also receive dedicated reception service, access to a private lounge on the 18th floor, and use of Spa ESPACIO MEIKAN. These additions are particularly valuable for longer stays, but they aren't included with rooms on the regular floors.
Facilities
A complimentary workout room on the fifth floor is open 24 hours to hotel guests aged 18 and over. It has cardio and strength-training equipment, though workout clothing and shoes aren't available to rent.
Spa ESPACIO MEIKAN includes a pool, fitness gym, large bath, and sauna. Access is included for ESPACIO guests, while guests staying on the regular floors pay an additional fee. The hotel also has substantial meeting and banquet facilities, including spaces designed for large conferences and receptions.
Dining
Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 10:00, with a Japanese and Western buffet or an alternative a la carte menu. Stone-oven pizza is one of the buffet's more unusual choices.
Beyond breakfast, guests can stay in the building for Japanese, Cantonese, or Italian meals, then move to the lounge or main bar for drinks. Room service provides an in-room alternative. That breadth is especially helpful during events or on evenings when you'd rather dine at the hotel than look for another restaurant in the city.
Location and transport
Fushimi Station exits 8, 9, and 10 are about a two-minute walk away. On the Higashiyama Line, Nagoya Station is one stop west and Sakae is one stop east. The Tsurumai Line also serves Fushimi, with direct trains toward Marunouchi and Osu Kannon.
Fushimi has no JR or Shinkansen platforms. From Nagoya Station, reaching the hotel requires one short subway ride or a taxi journey of roughly seven to nine minutes in normal traffic, depending on the station exit. That extra connection is the main tradeoff compared with staying in the immediate Nagoya Station area.
Airport access
A direct Meitetsu airport limousine bus connects the hotel with Chubu Centrair International Airport in about one hour, and advance reservations aren't required. It is slower than the fastest train, but it avoids a transfer with luggage. By rail, the Mu-Sky limited express takes about 28 minutes to Meitetsu Nagoya, followed by a taxi ride of around five minutes to the hotel.
Why stay here
Central subway connections, the direct airport bus, and full-service facilities set Nagoya Kanko Hotel apart from smaller business hotels. Four-bed rooms and ESPACIO accommodation broaden the options for groups and longer stays, while the dining and event spaces reduce the need to travel elsewhere for meetings or celebrations.
The surrounding Nagoya-Fushimi / Marunouchi district is quieter and more intimate than Nagoya Station or Sakae. The Nagoya City Science Museum and City Art Museum are in nearby Shirakawa Park, while Misonoza presents Kabuki and other stage performances closer to Fushimi Station.
Good to know
This isn't a walk-from-the-Shinkansen hotel. Allow time for a subway connection or taxi when arriving at Nagoya Station, especially if you're carrying several bags. Differences between the room tiers go beyond floor area: kitchens and laundry are limited to ESPACIO, while lounge privileges and included spa access also depend on the tier.
