Overview
Nishitetsu Grand Hotel is located in Fukuoka-Tenjin, close to Tenjin Station and the Daimyo side of the district. Opened in 1969, it is one of Nishitetsu’s long-established full-service hotels, with Tenjin’s shops, restaurants, bus connections, and subway lines all within easy reach.
Rooms
The hotel has 279 rooms in single, double, twin, triple, and suite categories. The range is broader than at a typical business hotel, making the property a good fit for solo guests, couples, families, and travelers who prefer a more traditional central Fukuoka hotel.
Facilities
Facilities include paid parking, a business corner, banquet and conference rooms, and services for both leisure and business stays. The hotel also has a long history as a wedding and event venue in Fukuoka, which reinforces its established full-service character.
Dining
In-house dining is extensive, with Japanese, Western, Chinese, and Italian restaurants, plus cafe, lounge, and bar options. Venues include La Cascade, Grand Cafe, Matsukaze, Torin, Grotto, and Mangermo. The choice is convenient for breakfast or dinner at the hotel, as well as meetings or special occasions in a familiar Tenjin setting.
Location and transport
The closest subway access is Tenjin Station on the Fukuoka City Subway Airport Line, about one minute on foot from Exit 2. Tenjin-minami Station on the Nanakuma Line is about four minutes away, and Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) Station is about five minutes away. The Tenjin Expressway Bus Terminal is also within walking distance for regional buses.
Airport access
From Fukuoka Airport, take the Airport Line to Tenjin; the ride from Fukuoka Airport Station takes about 11 minutes, followed by a short walk from the station area. Hakata Station is also on the Airport Line, making Shinkansen and JR Kyushu transfers easy.
Why stay here
Stay here if you want a classic full-service hotel in Tenjin rather than a smaller hotel designed mainly around the station. The location works well for shopping, dining, meetings, arrivals from the airport, and access to Daimyo, while still keeping Hakata easy to reach.
Good to know
Tenjin has several rail and subway points with similar names. For this hotel, Tenjin Station Exit 2 is the closest route. Tenjin-minami and Nishitetsu Fukuoka (Tenjin) serve different lines, so either may be better depending on where you are coming from.
