Teramachi, Shinkyogoku, Kawaramachi Sanjo, Pontocho, and the Kamo River are easier from here than from a terminal-area hotel, while Kyoto Station remains the key point for Shinkansen, JR, and airport-transfer planning.

The tradeoff is transport. For early Shinkansen departures, heavy luggage, or airport transfers, Kyoto Station will usually be easier. For central Kyoto evenings and cross-city subway access, this location is more convenient.

Do not confuse Kyoto Shiyakusho-mae with Kyoto Station. The hotel is near Kyoto City Hall and Kawaramachi Sanjo, not the main JR terminal.
