Overview

Yumoto Fujiya Hotel is located in Hakone-Yumoto, about three minutes on foot from Hakone-Yumoto Station. It works well for travelers who want an onsen hotel close to Hakone's main rail arrival point, with trains and buses nearby for continuing into the wider mountain area.

Rooms

Rooms range from compact singles and twins to deluxe rooms, suites, Japanese-style rooms, and Japanese-Western layouts. The mix covers Western beds, futon-style accommodation, combination rooms, accessible rooms, and select twin rooms with private hot spring baths.

Larger Japanese-style and Japanese-Western rooms can accommodate up to five or six guests, making them suitable for families or small groups. At the top end, the largest suites are over 100 square meters.

Facilities

The hot spring baths are the main reason to stay here. Guests have access to indoor and outdoor public baths, a sauna, and reservable private baths for a more private onsen experience.

The hotel also has a summer garden pool, self-service luggage storage on check-in and check-out days, parking, a self-service laundry, souvenir shopping, a boutique, and karaoke rooms. An external elevator route between the station side and the hotel also helps make the short walk easier with luggage.

Dining

Yumoto Fujiya Hotel has several places to eat, which is convenient after a full day of sightseeing around Hakone. Himeshara serves breakfast and Japanese kaiseki-style dinner, Katsura specializes in sushi, VentVert is the French restaurant, and Tokaro serves Chinese cuisine.

For lighter stops, Wisteria operates as a lounge. The hotel also has a bar and a Japanese pub, giving guests a range of options without needing to leave the property in the evening.

Location and transport

The location is especially convenient for arriving in and leaving Hakone. Direct Odakyu Romancecar services connect Shinjuku with Hakone-Yumoto, while travelers coming by Tokaido Shinkansen usually change at Odawara and continue by Hakone Tozan Railway, local bus, or taxi.

From Hakone-Yumoto, visitors can continue toward Gora, Owakudani, Lake Ashi, Togendai, Moto-Hakone, and other parts of the Hakone area. Staying near the station also makes luggage handling simpler, with town-center shops and station services close by, as well as hotel luggage storage for guests on arrival and departure days.

Airport access

Airport access involves transfers rather than a direct train or bus to the hotel. From Haneda Airport, one common route is Keikyu to Shinagawa, then the Shinkansen to Odawara, followed by the Hakone Tozan Railway to Hakone-Yumoto.

From Narita Airport, rail routes can run via Tokyo and Odawara. Another option is to take an airport limousine bus to Shinjuku and then continue to Hakone-Yumoto on the Odakyu Romancecar.

Why stay here

Choose Yumoto Fujiya Hotel if you want a hot spring stay very close to Hakone-Yumoto Station, with on-site dining, both Japanese and Western room styles, and straightforward transport deeper into Hakone. It is particularly well suited to first-night arrivals, last-night departures, and itineraries that begin or end with the Romancecar.

Good to know

Hakone-Yumoto is the entry area for Hakone, not the lake or ropeway side of the region. Staying here keeps rail access and luggage handling simple, but sightseeing around Gora, Owakudani, and Lake Ashi still requires onward travel by train, bus, cable car, ropeway, or cruise.
