What this station is useful for

Overview

Jimbocho Station is the subway stop for the bookshops and curry restaurants of Tokyo-Jimbocho / Ochanomizu. Three lines meet here, with direct trains from several parts of Tokyo. There are no JR platforms.

Lines and connections

The Toei Shinjuku Line runs directly to Shinjuku Station, while the Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line serves Shibuya. The Toei Mita Line runs directly to Otemachi.

Ochanomizu Station is a separate walk from Jimbocho, not an underground interchange. Its JR Chuo rapid trains reach Tokyo Station, a useful connection if you're continuing by Shinkansen.

Airport access

From Haneda, take a Keikyu service that continues onto the Toei Asakusa Line to Mita, then change to the Mita Line for Jimbocho. Check the train's destination before boarding at the airport, since not every Keikyu service follows this route.

Station area

The bookshop district begins close to the exits, with new and secondhand books, specialist dealers, and cafes for a break between shops. Curry restaurants add plenty of lunch choices. You can spend the visit exploring these streets without taking another train.

What's nearby

Ochanomizu's musical instrument shops are a short walk away. Start near the JR Ochanomizubashi Exit for stores selling guitars, keyboards, and other instruments. You can visit the bookshops and instrument stores in the same afternoon.

Good to know

For Sotetsu Fresa Inn Ochanomizu-Jimbocho, use Exit A7 and allow about four minutes on foot. That estimate begins at the street exit, so leave extra time for the walk from your platform.
