What this station is useful for

Overview

Kokusai Street begins near the prefectural offices in Kumoji. Kencho-mae Station serves this western end of Naha-Kokusai Dori, with Palette Kumoji and city-center hotels close to the monorail.

Yui Rail's English maps call the stop Prefectural Office. The name is worth recognizing when checking signs or timetables, though Kencho-mae is common in hotel directions.

Lines and connections

Kencho-mae is station 07 on Yui Rail, between Asahibashi and Miebashi. Airport-bound trains run west, while trains in the other direction cross central Naha and continue toward Shuri and Tedako-Uranishi.

The line gives this part of Kumoji a direct rail route to the airport and to neighborhoods farther east. For Naha Bus Terminal and many onward buses, continue one stop west to Asahibashi.

Airport access

Naha Airport is 13 minutes away by direct monorail. No transfer is needed. For hotels around Kumoji and the west end of Kokusai Street, the airport ride stays on one train from terminal to downtown.

Station area

The station opens into Naha's civic and commercial center. The Okinawa Prefectural Office and Naha City Hall are nearby, while Palette Kumoji marks the western entrance to Kokusai Street.

The Royal Park Hotel Iconic Naha is about two minutes away on foot. Other hotels, restaurants, and shops spread through Kumoji and along the first blocks of Kokusai Street.

What's nearby

Kokusai Street is about a three-minute walk from the station. From Palette Kumoji, the street continues east for roughly a mile through Naha's main shopping and dining corridor.

Miebashi can shorten walks to the middle of the corridor, while Makishi serves its eastern end near Tenbusu Naha and the market streets.

Good to know

Kencho-mae and Prefectural Office are two English names for the same stop. If an app, map, or timetable uses Prefectural Office, it isn't directing you to a different station.

Yui Rail doesn't cover the whole island. Asahibashi is the nearby transfer point for Naha Bus Terminal, while resort areas and northern Okinawa require a separate bus, car, or tour connection.
