What this station is useful for

Overview

Choose Shichirigahama Station when the coastline is the reason for your trip. This small Enoden stop serves the Shichirigahama Station Area west of central Kamakura. It places travelers close to the beach and Enoden scenery, with Kamakura Prince Hotel nearby and the coastal rail route continuing toward Enoshima or central Kamakura.

It is not a major transfer point, and it is not the most convenient choice for Kamakura's central temples. Its appeal is more focused: easy access to the shore, with the Enoden keeping nearby viewpoints, central Kamakura, and Fujisawa within the same rail corridor.

Lines and connections

Shichirigahama is served by the Enoshima Electric Railway, better known as the Enoden. The station is numbered EN09 and is between Inamuragasaki on the Kamakura side and Kamakura-Koko-Mae on the Fujisawa side.

For broader rail connections, continue to Kamakura Station for JR services, or ride the Enoden in the opposite direction toward Fujisawa. That makes Shichirigahama easy to include in a coastal Kamakura outing, but less efficient if your day depends on JR departures or sights clustered around the city center.

Station area

The area around the stop is defined by the beach, Route 134, hillside streets, and the coastal hotel zone. Kamakura Prince Hotel is the main nearby accommodation landmark, with a walking route from the station and shuttle service at set times.

Expect a seaside neighborhood rather than a dense station-front district. Shichirigahama works best if you want the coast close at hand and are happy to rely on the Enoden for the rest of your time in Kamakura.

What's nearby

Shichirigahama Beach is the main draw, with views toward Enoshima and, in clear weather, Mount Fuji. Inamuragasaki is one Enoden stop east and offers a more defined viewpoint, while Kamakura-Koko-Mae is one stop west toward the Enoshima side.

You can pair Shichirigahama with Hase or central Kamakura on the same Enoden-focused outing. In the other direction, Inamuragasaki, Kamakura-Koko-Mae, and Enoshima keep the route centered on the coast. For overnight stays, Kamakura Prince Hotel makes the area especially relevant to visitors who prefer a coastal setting over the busier Kamakura Station Area.

Good to know

Shichirigahama is a local Enoden stop, so it is worth planning luggage and timing with a little more care than you would at a large JR station. Enoden information does not list coin lockers here, and the surrounding streets are more spread out than central Kamakura.

Choose Shichirigahama for the beach, coastal views, and Enoden atmosphere. Choose the Kamakura Station Area instead if Tsurugaoka Hachimangu, Komachi-dori, central restaurants, or early JR departures are higher priorities.
